Biggy hasn't logged in since last Sunday. I wonder what's up.

He was attacked by a Hitler and now Biggy is dead of fire.

Here's a video of David Bull appearing to be baffled that it requires a big room for equal representation of 28 nations.

Dr David Taurus also doesn't know what the word "enormity" means

Clue #1: it isn't a synonym for "enormous"

I don't think that is true, granmatically.

Neville Chamberlain

I've just watched Ann Widdecombe's, er, speech or whatever the fuck it was.

Thanks, Brexiters. You fucking, fucking, fucking idiots. :-(

Getting a pass on hate speech and loonyism because Trump set a precedent and everyone* went down the meme hole instead of fighting it

*not everyone

Widdecombe's speech was like when your nan gets drunk and starts ranting at a wedding. Look at the body language and faces of the MEPs around her.

Anyway i'm just watching Newsnight and the host interviewing Widdy just said "it is total white privilege on your part".  Where's that suicide thread

Well it's supposed to mean 'great wickedness', but so many people think it means 'enormousness' that most dictionaries now list both meanings. Which pisses the pedants off no end, but that's life. See also 'fortuitous'.

It seems like that but it's got Bannon right through it like Blackpool rock. It galvanises the base and triggers multiple groups of opponents that they can accuse of overreacting or trying to suppress free speech and opinion.

Also, Faragee left UKIP to get *away* from the nutters, and to take all the media attention for himself. How's that workin' out for ya, Nige?

Dunno if you've all seen this by now, but Corbyn says Labour is pro Remain and in favour of second referendum: https://metro.co.uk/2019/07/09/jeremy-corbyn-calls-second-brexit-referendum-says-labour-backs-remain-10137078/

NoSleep

Corbyn says Labour is pro remain in the circumstances of no deal or a tory deal that doesn't protect the economy or jobs. No change from last conference.

Shoulders?-Stomach!

Yep but aspects of the policy are clearer, and the impact has been significant. It's landed as a solid shift.

This is superb work and you can tell from the panic by the frankly hysterical responses from the Lib Dems and CHUK remnants who if they genuinely only cared about Remaining should be delighted and offering their wholehearted assistance.

This now makes their hostility to Labour look what it is, petty small minded centrist insanity.

Labour still have to shift a few inches, but the policy of put any final deal to the people if they are elected is perfect. Of course, that's if the People's Vote really wanted a People's Vote (or was it really to quash the referendum and remain no matter what?)

Shoulders?-Stomach!

If Labour win off the back of this and then find 'their deal' voted down by the public (highly likely) then they will have resolved Brexit while still keeping alive the bitter rump of arch Brexiteers who will poison the Tory party.

This is the clearest credible move to remain in the EU, like Corbyn or not. There is no room left and no feasible reason for any arch Remainer to now not only vote but actively support Labour. Any failure not to simply exposes the duplicity, unicorn hunting and massive bad faith on the part of the Remainers.

FBPE lot aren't worried about another referendum any more than the ERG lot give a shit about sovereignty. One wants to maintain the status and avoid socialism at all costs and the other wants an end to regulation and taxation for themselves and their mates.

I'm happy with this stance, as a left remoaner.

Quite so, and this stance turns the screw on the FBPE crew to abandon their pathetic me me me unicorn hunting and vote for and actively support the only entity in British politics capable and willing to fulfil their claimed objective.

I think these threads should have a reminder of all the acronyms pinned to the top of each page.  It does my head in trying to remember what FBPE, ERG and all the other ones mean.

For the former my mind puts "first" and "post" in automatically and then I explode trying to work out the B and the E.

greencalx

FBPE = centrist pro Europe wankers
ERG = right wing anti Europe wankers

Still not going to stand for Remain in a GE, though, are they?

'Remain' won't be an option in a general election.  They will be standing for Labour.

John Major would go to court to stop Boris Johnson "bypassing parliament" to force through no-deal Brexit by proroguing parliament
.

Lots of #FBPE people on Twitter smarming all over him and forgetting his ministerial and prime ministerial career. Or maybe lots of them were Tories until Brexit.
