Why isn't he more respected? He's got loads of bangers and decent ballads.

Remember when he went on CBB and came across as a tedious, egocentric tosser? Then stormed out of the house in a spectacular hissy fit? That might have something to do with why people don't take him seriously.

He recorded some decent stuff in the '70s, no doubt about that, but I think he's always suffered from an image problem. The Pierrot clown thing was an attention-grabbing gimmick which probably put a lot of critics off him. His subsequent cheeky little chappie persona did him no favours either, he always seemed a bit too eager to please.

It's a shame, really, as the guy has a good voice and some of his songs are alright. If you played something like Giving It All Away to someone without saying who it was, I daresay they'd assume it was the work of a serious, soulful singer-songwriter.

Leo can do it all, there's no end to his talents.

What I like about that clip is how Leo is more than happy to show what a good sport he is by joining in with the silliness, but as soon he makes an accidental tit of himself he immediately tries to gloss over it. Leo is a man who likes to be in control, fun can only be enjoyed on his terms and his terms only.

I apparently met him on a train in South Africa around the millennium.  I was a kid, but apparently I told my parents he was "a boring man".

I then saw him on Celebrity Big Brother and completely changed my mind.  Legend.

If I recall correctly, almost everyone featured came across as tetchy, tediously boring and/or bumptious. They also all acted as if the point of the game was to try to outwit the makers of the documentary somehow. Leo came across particularly badly.

No real opinion of him as a singer. Found him annoying and drippy when his career was at its height, and I was a kid.
