In The Land Of Grey And Pink by Caravan contains the brilliant Nine Feet Underground.

Is it one song or five in a suite? I see it as ONE.

Have you heard Vandroogenbroeck's solo albums? Try and get a listen to Sand 'n' Wind from Meditation 1 and tell me what you think

Ooh ta for that.... I only have Biomechanoïd which I like a lot. I will get back to you.

well, if that's allowed, I'm having all my favourite tangerine dream albums & 'tapes from topographic oceans'.

Anyway, we all know the correct answer to this one:

Ooh yes, incredible song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kP4oxcQJzyc
The opening organ melody always reminds me of the Tom and Jerry theme music.

Well, it would be, but Karn Evil 9's awesomeness can not be contained on one mere side.

yes. magnificent. I've straight away got the opening 10/8 riff going in my head. "tarkus" is magnificent. the B-side has its moments, but there's some dire filler on there, as there is on BSS too. I should make one good album out of the two of them for listening porpoises.
"pictures" for the win, though.

(by the way, "tapes from topographic oceans" was funnier)

It is all rather silly though isn't it?

I think it is, anyway.

Way back when I had a phone that could only do monophonic beepy tunes for ringtones, I had that riff as mine for a while.

I sat next to carl palmer on the piccadilly line, late in 2011. he was with his mrs, but left her standing up; I even offered my seat, but no. I showed him the artwork for BSS on the screen of my ipod & he rather ungraciously said "yes, it's me". I think he may've been irritated by the fact of slumming it on the tube, with what appeared to be christmas shopping, more than at being recognised, because when they got off, he turned & said "cheers!".
I would've liked a proper chat, but there you go. I only saw ELP the once- albert hall, 1992, & it wasn't great.
