How do you decide which house to use?

Do you have one for each season, in which case where do you stay if the weather is unseasonable? Or do you just keep things simple and have one for each month of the year?

My matye Darren had 'two' houses and everyone was in awe of him. In reality he was from a broken home and his mum and dad lived in separate houses and he was emotionally scarred, but at 9 it was fucking impressive.
