A nice restrospective of the game, including development history details that I didn't know.

It's also a good reminder of how the game was inspired by Twin Peaks, explicitly mentioning it and showing foreboding owls etc.

Twin Peaks: The Return even (spoilers) lagged behind it a bit, with the suggestion that everything is perhaps Cooper's dream.

Bazooka

What? Next you'll be telling me Mario Kart was inspired by The South Bank Show.

Twed

And the Minder game was inspired by Day of the Tentacle.

Consignia

Next you'll be telling me Resident Evil V was inspired by Mind Your Language.

We've mentioned this in the TP3 threads before, but Final Fantasy VII makes various nods to Twin Peaks. Most notably is the visual similarity between BOB and Sephiroth. FFVII's music gets very Twin Peaksy a fair amount of the time, too. Not surprisingly TP was quite a hit in Japan.

Yeah, I've always thought this. Audrey's Dance in particular. We've had this conversation here before, but it's always worth revisiting.

Ah! You're absolutely right! Never thought about it before but the slums music, Oppressed People, Turks Theme, Under the Something Pizza, they're all so reminiscent of TP.

Twed

Yeah, those are pretty much the selection of tunes I'd designate "Twin Peaksy". Swelling strings and slow jazz with lots of finger clicks and swing(?) rhythms.

NoSleep

The world music (aka FFVII Main Theme), too. Sounds reminiscent of the TP title music.

Lurking in the Darkness is the Audrey's Dance-sounding one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ML7M4XIoGF0
