I would like to formally disown that as a cuisine gamechanger. It was in reply to something else.

Cheating, obviously, but I've found a rice cooker is very useful to me as I can leave the rice to the machine, comes out perfect every time, so I can concentrate on whatever delicious thing I am conjuring up to go with the rice.

Also: I try and resist starting drinking booze until dinner is on the table, which I find results in fewer fuck ups.
