You've probably seen them on that there 'Tube. Kinda cheap nitpicking of various films and TV shows, but it has such a nice flow to it, and once you get into the catchphrases you're just rolling along.

The Dark Knight
Avengers: Infinity War
Pacific Rim
The Matrix
Fifty Shades of Gray

Anybody else share my perversion?

Poobum

I'd never seen these before, they're great. I binge now. The man is too pretty, pretty men displease me. Thanos being Pokemon Bruce Willis though, lots of like treasure to be snuffled out.

This should be annoying but is really good. I enjoy the relentless tone which gradually undermines the films. So much better than po-faced 'everything wrong with x in y mins' shite.

Yeah yeah yeah.

I don't think it's even really criticism a lot of the time. The Toy Story one does rip into a lot of plot holes, but because the whole thing is so jaunty you just end up enjoying it. (and boy I'd forgotten how ground breaking that film was)

And yeah, there are so many dull review channels. The mentioned 'Everything Wrong' stuff, the lazy Plinket copies, and more recently the hyper-MRA 'Why having any women at all in Vera Drake is a direct attack on male-kind!'. It's nice just to have so fun.

There are even, I think, a few good Everything Wrong Withs. There's some films that are just so problematic that the format really lends itself to it (trying to think of an example... Prometheus maybe?); or films he appeared to genuinely like (Star Trek Beyond, I think) or hate (The VVitch - he really hated that one). But for the most part they're formulaic and pointless. "(attractive female actress) is not giving me a lap dance in this scene" *DING* 1 Sin. Hilarious, I'm sure.

Aaron Sorkin's obsession with the internet really has got out of hand.

Seeing as it's recommended here, I'll try it.
It's been offered in my feed but have avoided it. The problem with watching half-decent movie discussions on YouTube is that you get offered 1,001 idiot rants like  'Why Robert Pattinson just KILLED THE ENTIRE BATMAN FRANCHISE' or the those with more production values like Cinema Sins, which can be just as annoying just with better mics.

Is Cinema Sins still going? It went a bit weird last I checked. People asking why they're doing films from 15/20 years ago.
Quick check... Oh yes. The latest video is sticking it to Men in Black II.

Of the ones posted really only 50 shades is that focused on being critical of the films, the rest are basically just comedy taking the piss out of the leaps of logic in this kind of cinema and adult movie execs discussing such things.

My recent search for Cinema Sins recent output has thrown up this.

I had no idea Cinema Sins were such defensive man-babies – claiming the bits they get wrong is satire – and how much they willfully ignore in films in order to cry "WHAT'S ALL THAT ABOUT?!?/AS IF THAT MAKES SENSE!!!"

NoSleep

Their Game of Thrones Season 8 was how I discovered them recently. It covers all the bases:

Those were really interesting. I'd noted that CinemaSins (the actual name for EWWs, I'd forgotten) were getting longer (a while back, I've not watched any in ages because once you notice the fatuousness of much if it, the spell is broken, metaphorically) but didn't realise why.

St_Eddie

I am subscribed to CinemaSins.  I think that I mostly watch their videos out of habit, more than anything else.

*ding* Sin.

Mister Six

Love this bloke. Was caning them a while back so I'm sure I've got tons to watch now. As others say, there's a chipperness and warmth about the pieces that stop them from seeming overly whiny or bitter.

Mister Six

Watched the Endgame one:

"Oh so Tony has a daughter now?"

"Yeah, and she's super cute. She says things like, 'I love you 3000.'"

"Oh, because she thinks he's the lead singer of Outkast."

As mentioned Ultron one does seem to be playing on the "bro" obsession with Black Widow being show to be at all competent in Marvel films. I think you see that as one of the main markets for criticism via nitpick and indeed I think you could argue the un-ironically arrogant motormouth way the videos are presented is also marketed at such people.

Morrison Lard

These are all like a poor version of the Key & Peele "Gremlins 2" video.
(4 years old now, ignore the YouTube upload date)

This is a bit off-topic, but that sketch has always annoyed me as it's clear whoever wrote it had no idea about the background of Gremlins 2. Joe Dante made it the way it is because he meant it to be a deliberately stupid riff on needless sequels. In fact I'm not sure they even knew who Joe Dante was.

(Have I mentioned this before? I think I might have. Nevermind, press Post...)

Mister Six

Also all of the things that the sketch implies are bad are actually brilliant. I love Gremlins 2.

I suspect this is very much the case.  Gremlins 2 is about as far removed from a movie ruined by executive meddling as you can get.  Joe Dante only agreed to make the sequel on the proviso that he could do whatever he wanted.  Warner Bros agreed and the result is the batshit insane sequel which we got.

The campy script doctor guy probably represents more of the kind of attitude that got a lot of great pulp blockbusters made in the first place, I mean so much of the appeal of these films is coming up with interesting/original set pieces(including the original Gremlins with its endless kill variations). Meanwhile the sensible script leader were sposed to get behind seems more akin to the meddling exec attitude today always looking to whats sold previously.

That's a rather canny observation, I must say.

On the Gremlins 2 subject when watching that sketch Youtube offered me this video rental promo vid of the brain gremlin I'v never seen before.

Imagine if he'd said "You're fired!" at the end (like I was almost expecting him to). In a film so heavily satirising Trump, that would have been quite spooky...

I never noticed the computer changing in the background before; that's a nice touch.

I only realised it was green scene the other day.

Really good stuff these, thanks for the tip. Funny and clever.
