Hello. A while back i was doing a bit of musical digging and came across a group fronted by 2 girls dressed in Arabic gear, possibly coming out of Germany. It was post-punk/Electronic stuff and was rather engaging. However, i have forgotten the name of the group - Salah/Sada/Sadait something or other - can't find hide nor hair of it now. They had a compilation of singles from the early 80s - up to about 85/86 - and there was a pic of the girls, in Arabic clothing on a blue background. Anyone any ideas or did i dream it?

Sorry, I'll be no help here, but your post reminded me about this, which I bookmarked and then forgot about:

Acid Arab - Gul l'Abi (feat. A-WA) [Music Video]: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0e0txlm7KUo

Searching for A-WA led me to this, which is also pretty good:

A-WA - "Hana Mash Hu Al Yaman" (Official Video): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iD90UbVXZSE

Maybe you'll enjoy these, I dunno.

Actually, that's not the full track. Someone's just used a bit of it for their short film. The full track is here:

Acid Arab - Gul l'Abi (feat A-WA) [Musique de France]: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asMTYB-WcbE

Bloody hell. I've got to get me some Acid Arab discs. They're great.

Acid Arab - Stil (feat Cem Yildiz) [Crammed Discs]: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UFo2mVxAjA

Acid Arab Ft. Avril, Shadi Khries - Samira: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibFzELEUilA

Apologies for hijacking your thread.

Haha! Fucking hell. I wasn't expecting that. As you'd expect, it didn't appear in my suggested list. Perhaps the algorithm isn't entirely useless after all if it can spot the connection in your listening history.

Good tune, that too. Bookmarked.

Ah, yes, I remember you posted a couple of videos of him a few years ago. They were also great.

I like that too.

Are either of you familiar with the work of Jerusalem in My Heart (https://jerusaleminmyheart.bandcamp.com/)? He's Canadian, originally from Lebanon. I was fortunate to see him in Brighton last year.

In the suggested albums at the bottom of JIMH there was this:

That's some weird shit, right there. Love it.

I really like this Dabke comp too (quite similar to the sort of thing Omar Souleyman does)
