The implication being that you can't dislike or reject anything if other people decide you shouldn't, otherwise they'll smite Corbs.  Which is just plain crazy.

It is plain crazy, so it is just as well no-one is saying that. It isn't about Twitter or Corbyn or even whether you like something or not. It is about informed opinion. Corbyn was just used as an example because this thread is ostensibly about him.

So you can only dislike something when you are ignorant about it; that is now settled.

Yes that should fool everyone into believing we haven't derailed the thread!

Why do you keep getting this wrong? No-one is saying any of the things you keep saying they are saying.

I don't think it matters either way to be perfectly honest.  I'm not going to talk about this anymore as it's boring the tits off everyone.

Twitter is good as an extra source of news and information in a digestible way that you might otherwise miss. I follow alot of animal welfare accounts, for example. The format means good causes have easy access to celebrities and that can get their message out to a wider audience. It's also good for getting unfiltered messages out from MPs and the like, and there are plenty of cute animal videos to enjoy daily.

You have to take the good with the bad obviously.

Ash Sarkar was fucking wonderful against Mark Francois on telly today, truth be told

A non-sequitur along the lines of saying I should take up smoking before asking people to research socialism, but thanks for it.
Ah right, you're doing the thing of pretending not to understand so you can be petty instead. Again

Ooh, I missed this. THANK YOU. This saves me from having to actually question myself about having made a mistake here. No. They are just being fucking ridiculous.

Alexi Sayle slayin' it on R4 ...

Sorry, bit late, but I'd also like to echo the praise for this show, which I first heard about on

Johnny Yesno

Yes, I finally caught up with it too. It's great and the tune at the end is a banger.

An annual subscription to actual print magazine Tribune is only ten quid at the moment.

Nope. It's maybe a different page if you're registered with them.

EDIT: Oh yeah, it works if you click through that link.

It was really refreshing to hear someone on mainstream media talk positively about Corbyn without equivocation. So often there are "but"s or "I wish he'd..."s and so little mention of how he has completely changed the paradigm of UK politics and the Labour party. Of how there is finally a left wing choice and it is pretty much down to him. About how, despite what FBPE cunts and Lib Dem arseholes tell you, he isn't power mad, doesn't seem to really want to be PM but has this burden of duty on his shoulders.

NoSleep

When you say "again" you realise it won't ever stop? Just wait until Corbyn is PM and watch the shit really start.

thugler

It's the things like failing to mention that lansman is Jewish himself that really start to feel like a piss take. A motion from a Jewish person is evidence that the party are ignoring Jewish people. Arrrggghh.

Dr Rock

Again they use one of them close shot photos of protesters that hide the fact there were only about twenty people there. And it's an old photo one could be fooled into thinking was related to this story.

NoSleep

Let them carry on treating their readers like fools.

Yep. The headline suggests no Jewish members were consulted at all, but I did get confused when they noted it was a motion by Lansman who - well since it was his motion was probably somewhat involved in it. Maybe someone better informed could clarify if all Jewish Labour members form the JLM or is it a subgroup where members who are (predominantly) Jewish are also keen to promote or share certain ideas.

It's an organisation within the Labour Party, another is Jewish Voice for Labour.  Both are groups that members may choose to join if they wish.  Broadly speaking, the Jewish Labour Movement tends to be a voice for more right wing, Progress-type, members whilst Jewish Voice for Labour is more, for want of a better word, Corbynite.

pancreas

Members of JLM need not be Labour members, nor Jewish. Members of JVL must be both, though one can be a supporter without being Jewish. JLM claim to represent the mainstream, but it isn't even clear that they have more members than JVL.
