Anyone who says "Game of Thrones" will be instantly blocked. Bom-bom-biddle-bom-bom-biddle-fucking-bom-bom ad nauseam.

DrGreggles

I don't really watch TV any more, so I'm not sure of many current theme tunes - less so great ones.

Taskmaster is pretty good.

I was thinking the same thing; it sounds like music for an advert for NatWest or Barclays.

Dr Rock

Oh wait I've got a good one, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. 2015 that started.

Numerous artists, starting with Schooly D, did well on Aqua Teen Hunger Force:

Actually Adult Swim have a few good ones.

Squidbillies was originally done by Billy Joe Shaver, then later they opened it up to a different guest artist every episode (which included artists like Todd Rundgren, Jan Hammer, B-52s, T-Pain, Cannibal Corpse, etc). I think my fave is the one Bill Shatner did: www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDc5mJjR4p4
Squidbillies has the greatest ever closing music, played on a three string Appalachian Mountain Banjo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shvEXtn9GR8

Watched series 1 of American Gods recently. I like the theme to that.

Bojack Horseman end credits theme perhaps.

My favourite songs in Bojack are the decade-specific generic songs.

I like the woozy opening music better; it seems to capture the essence of that bloodshot-eyed Bojack we see. Plus it features the late Ralph Carney (ex-Tin Huey, Pere Ubu) on sax.

Yeah, that's a great piece of music. A friend has been playing that a lot lately just as something to listen to in the car, and even with a few repeats it's a great tune in its own right.

NoSleep

Is it the extended version with extra Ralph that plays when Bojack's coming back to LA sat on the deck of his boat (I think that's the time they used it)?

Twed

It is definitely longer and a bit more saxy, yeah.

Also a fucking stone-cold classic that I return to a lot. But it's even better in lower quality versions where the audio is far more saturated from the VHS tape it's sourced from. It needs a little bit of BoCing to get it just right.

Clean versions of The Family Ness theme tune (and most pre-1995 themes) are sad things.

I bought the associated Tongo Hiti (lounge band) CD associated with the show at the time. It had Princess Cruiser, the "shimmer and shine, and ladder climb, for glamour or gold" song on it. Should have kept it, it was a very limited run and the singer turned out to be that incredibly popular "Sad Clown With The Golden Voice" guy.

So there's some trivia for you. This is the 12 oz Mouse lounge singer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFUZ5d_ukxc

Twed

Oh, turns out he was a Shriner clown (mason)

12 oz Mouse probably seemed pretty normal to him then

NoSleep

I'm going to see if I can track down a rip of that lounge stuff.

The vocalist of Nine Pound Hammer (Scott Luallen) does the voice of Roostre in 12 Oz Mouse; even sings a couple of tunes.

Nine Pound Hammer also do Carl's Theme (I Don't Need Instructions To Know How To Rock) in the ATHF film: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVrf0zLWv0k
