Absolutely kicking myself for not keeping that CD.

Lots of Tongo Hiti live videos on YouTube.

Stranger Things' theme is pretty iconic.

House of Cards (US) is the only other recent-ish one that comes to mind as memorable.

I do quite like The Expanse: https://youtu.be/5Y4wuVfV5G4 ... but is it a great TV theme? Probably not.

I like the woozy opening music better; it seems to capture the essence of that bloodshot-eyed Bojack we see. Plus it features the late Ralph Carney (ex-Tin Huey, Pere Ubu) on sax.

Oh shit, the fact that Ralph Carney died completely passed me by. 2 years go? Fuck. I was just reading about how Tom Waits cut ties with him.

I prefer the opening music while it's playing, and the closing music while that's playing. They both make me cry insipid tears of indecision. I mainly came here to post shock about Ralph Carney, I don't think there has been an original truly great theme tune since King of the Hill, maybe.

I can't remember exactly which episode, but during the opening credits Ralph was on the TV in Bojack's living room as a tribute after he died (I think it's an episode 1).

Just looked this up, it's in season 5, which I haven't got to yet. I'm extremely slow with my viewing, I'm about three episodes into season 4. I look forward to seeing the tribute and presumably crying.

Seeing as a bit of a theme (!) has developed here of recording artistes doing music for shows - these aren't theme tunes but they're special appearances of acts in the children's programme Yo Gabba Gabba:

      Playlist

Featuring Cornelius, The Shins, Ladytron, Devo, Flaming Lips, Amy Sedaris, Of Montreal, The Roots, Tanya & Petra Haden, and many more.

And if you fish around, there are also Cool Tricks from Mix Master Mike, Biz Markie, Rahzel, and others.

Yeah two for one there.

Yeah they are both great to be fair, as someone else mentioned there's that lovely wooziness to the opener that fits perfectly with the visuals.

It was just the sheer ear-wormery of 'Back in the nineties, I was in a very famous TV showwww...' that shaded it.

It always makes me happy when I hear it because it means We Bare Bears is coming on the telly.

No? How about Cow and Chicken then?
