A FUPA is a Fat Upper Pussy/Penis Area and if a slim person uses this phrase they're culturally appropriating from the fat community, apparently. What new words, phrases, or acronyms have you learned lately?

Some of these I would attribute more to Very Online Xenials (VOX)

Also fuck off with "bare" and "extra". Those are from Essex in 1994. "Beef" indeed. And they got #cancelled wrong.

A brilliant, utterly self-unaware comment on that article:

- Shame today's "yoof" don't understand some old school slang like "Please" and "Thank you"

You may as well just post "Tut, eh? Tut tut", and in response to anything.

Shoulders?-Stomach!

Can we arrange to have her bombed

Yes? What's that I'm hearing? We can. Yes, that's sorted then.

Sounds entirely reasonable to me.

Grace Dent wrote one of these in the Guardian about 10 years ago where she explained words like 'peng', I needed pliers to uncurl my toes.

I want to die.

Pretty sure Cancelled is wrong.

Stan? Do the kids even know what an Eminem is these days?

Or am I just on a different orbit and have missed him coming back?

José

"stan" showing up in the youth lexicon twenty years after the fact is pretty wild now you mention it.

If anybody wants a new avatar, I think this put upon teen from the slang article may be a good choice:

I thought 'stan' was a portmanteau of stalker and fan, and that that was where Eminem had got it from too, but although some definitions include the bit about it being a combination of the words, most just say it's from the song and there's no mention that that's why Eminem chose that name, so it's just circumstantial. A happy coincidence if you will.

He picked it because it rhymes with fan

Well if it's a combination of stalker and fan it would, wouldn't it. He only rhymes it with fan twice in the song anyway.

José

it also rhymes with man and if you look closely in the video you'll notice stan is infact, a man.

It also rhymes with gran and flan and Jackie Chan but he isn't one of those.
