Also for an old (OLD, when they were still run from their own power supply) hard drive - I have a 500gb Maxtor drive with exactly the same SSL charger. 

That hard drive must be getting on for 15 years old, but it still works and currently holds all my PC games.

Charger for one of the smol, newer ThinkPads. My crap old ThinkPad has a huge clunky charger and no cunty little connector.

All my external drives are run from their own power supplies to this day and you can buy modern drive cases that require powering. A necessity for some tasks or circumstances.
