Aye, I like quite a few Italo cuts but the problem I've had getting into the genre is that it seems really poorly served by compilations and overviews

While not exclusively Italian, the European discs from the Disco Discharge series are good and come from generally decent masters with decent overall mastering. The compilations from the more specialist crate-digger labels often seem a bit afraid of going full cheese while some of the MP3-only ones from Italian labels that you find on online music services are shoddy in the extreme.

I know an events organiser who is planning an Italo disco night in London much like Nagsworth describes in the OP and when she was researching other such events, this thread and an older one on CaB from 2013 were amongst the first results she found. That's how cool you kids all are. Anyway, subject to the limits of admin's rules on promoting your own/friends stuff, I'll let you know here if, when and where this happens and hopefully I can swing some places on the guest list.

Went looking for that 2013 thread and was reminded of this amazing mix in a post from TBC

More Balearic than Italo but this Slow Blow mix by Mark Seven is the best for hepcats the world over.

Skip to 1:30 (after some daft noises) and you won't stop til you drop.

My favourite tune starts at 30:27, reminds me of doing rails on my yacht at sunset with Farrah Fawcett.

Lovely Italo Disco influenced tune just come out with a cheeky St Etienne sample
David Jackson – Broken Heart

Reminds me of Todd Terje - Eurodans a little.

This is from an album that featured on my albums of the year list:

DJ Rocca - Nassau (feat. Rodion)

The whole album is worth checking out for anyone looking for a fresh take on the Italo sound.

This thread is incredible. Fuck Christmas, I'm having an Italo Disco week. That Clio track is a banger. I know these are obvious, but they're great:

Baltimora - Tarzan Boy
Giorgio Moroder - From Here to Eternity
Kano - Can't Hold Back Your Lovin'

Flemming Dalum's Soundclound is an Italo-Disco treasure trove:

Found this version of Pillow Talk by Lustt after it was sampled by Saint Pepsi.

I missed this when it came out a few years ago. A groove-perfect contemporary Italo Disco album:

My mate Flavio does a show chock full of this sort of thing on the radio:

But I'm not very knowledgeable.

After a holiday to Italy I had a short and occasionally resurrected phase of listening to Italo-dance radio, and have no idea where the line is drawn between disco and dance.

Liked this though, Youtube comments suggest its Polish but I heard it on Italian radio.
