object-lesson

Not normally a big fan of guitar soloing, but Galaxie 500 - Don't Let Our Youth Go To Waste is just stratospheric in both incarnations. Think I just prefer the official one:

but others favour the Peel session version which is a bit more crunchy:

Besides the many many live versions of it Garcia's guitar solo for the Zabriskie Point soundtrack is probably as close as you'll get...

Ah yes, very nice, and genuinely smoochy.

Not listened to the track in the OP (yet) so this may be well wide of the mark, but my pick for a bouncy Neil Young indebted noodle would be Doug Tuttle's Turn This Love - https://youtu.be/EgaBZiFZNoQ

Unfortunately this is a bit of a one off in DT's oeuvre, but his lead lines in general are really imaginative imo.

any david gilmour, but this is the top of his game really, including the "I've plugged my wah pedal in the wrong way round" seagull impressions-

Lots of videos of men wanking on PornHub too
This was misjudged. Not intended as a remark on the quality of some of the stuff posted in this thread.

I would second Sharrock. The jam released in a Space Ghost Coast to Coast episode after he died caught me off-guard the first time I heard it. Really great music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71WxCZGfkrI

It's the pacing and momentum of his stuff that gets me.
