Is it too late to say how much I hate The Cunt Alan Sugar?

Appalling Cunt

That's Lord Cunt to you, thank you.

Buelligan

I think you'll find that's Keith.

Or is it Adonis?  Or Mandy?

I'm afraid we don't have anyone quite like that.

"Climate change: Law used as stick to beat government"

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-55368922

Yes, how dare ordinary people use the law against the establishment.

Cuellar

Haha christ alive

QuoteEnvironmentalists are using the law to hound the government to force infrastructure plans into line with its climate change commitments.

HOUND

FORCE

the government to do what it committed to doing.

Fuck me. I would say that's a new low for the BBC but it's actually bang on trend. Ministry of Truth dickheads.

Just donated a few quid to the Good Law Project as that article's pissed me off. Can someone let Sunak know I'm not just swimming about in my "riches" like Scrooge McDuck, ta.

Never.

He launched Katie Hopkins on the world, that's bad enough.

On their ticker tape page:

15,526 COVID Tests carried out in Dover and only 35 positive.

Well not tested because displaying symptoms and  if extrapolate that to full population of UK it would be around 150,000 postive cases which would be extremely high for a random population.

So don't know why they use the word ONLY in headline.

Not strictly BBC News website related, but another BBC employee writing in a right wing paper complaining things are not right wing enough:

I thought they were meant to show impartiality.

idunnosomename

the piece isn't really about that, I doubt he wrote the header. it's just Justin Webb (who's always been an america correspondent) saying it's time to get sensible now we have a sensible man

it's very BBC centrist. it's also horseshit

Yes, how dare ordinary people use the law against the establishment.

This is absolutely staggering. You can feel that opening sentence straining under the extent to which it's been contorted to make the poor law-breaking government the victim in all this. Don't know anything about the journalist but it does have the feel of being imposed on an otherwise straightforward article by an insane editor.

Like frajer, I have been subscribed to the Good Law Project for a while and if anyone's got a few spare quid (perhaps your lapsed Labour membership fee?) that could be a good place to put it. They have spent the last year doing their best to provide the country with an actual, forensic opposition.

From today's livefeed re Hancock's upcoming briefing:

QuoteThere's something else I've noticed: ministers in front of cameras are often in possession of several syringes full of expectation management.

Just feels a really patronising way to phrase it, even if they had been talking about vaccines.

Peston is such a prime example of brain rot that he should have a disease named after him.

It's all jolly hockeysticks for wealthy members of the media like Peston isn't it?

Why was a BBC reporter allowed inside an intensive care unit today to give a 2 minute piece to camera (in full PPE so you couldn't see his face). Fergal fucking Walsh, what are you playing at. Sit in the editing suite back at home and read your lines. Is there a need for you to be a) so intrusive, b) a risk (however minimal). Prick journalist.
