Chucked Momentum £20, suggest everyone shakes their wallet out and tries to get everyone they know to do likewise!

Yeah I get paid tomorrow so they're gonna get some of my wonga, Labour too, but slightly less.

Thomas

Hey comlads. I live over the Irish sea like some sort of IRA sympathiser, but I want to contribute in some way. I see the above suggestions and will chuck some euros at Momentum, and I've monthly quids going to Labour, but what else can an expat like me do to help??

I'm going to be chucking Momentum and Novara some p once I get paid by Big Oil my job which is not involved in the oil industry in any way.

Dr Rock

I've got mobility problems but I want to do the phone app thing. Do you just ring people anywhere or can I target marginal Hendon where I used to live?

peanutbutter

Gave Momentum £25 there, which I think is the first time I've ever done a political donation to anything.

Dr Rock

How do I do the phone app thing? I'm a Labour and Momentum member. And I reckon Hendon's gonna be a piece of piss and it would be my pleasure to put 'Dr' Matthew Offord out of a job.

I don't know how thorough Momentum are gonna be in checking you are a member. This has specific tasks like data entry and texting people, if you don't wanna interact face to face with the general public.

An app is being launched tomorrow called My Campaign Map and it will direct you to the marginals and to areas where your support will be most impactful. This is a momentum created app, tied up with Momentum's plan of targetting marginals.

Thursday

So I'm definitely too anxious and shit to knock on doors, and I'm in a Lib Dem (Kingston and Surbiton) seat where it's between them and Tories. What do I do?

kitsofan34

The app I just mentioned might be handy for you to find a marginal close by. Or you could click on this https://volunteer.peoplesmomentum.com and lie about your location like a cheeky little bitch.

burn down Surbiton

TrenterPercenter

I've donated some monies too.

So can anyone use that momentum website right?

kitsofan34

I'm a member but have been cheekily sending it to everyone I know.

Like and share shit on facebook. Comment under posts is the most important thing to viralise them.

Sin Agog

I think Labourites should play up the Literally a Socialist side a bit more.  Seems to be working for Sanders, and gives them the clear narrative they need.

How do i find my nearest marginal? There's a website but it just tells me to sign up to a mailing list?

I've already made a donation, but I'd like to be more actively involved, without having to do a load of travelling (where I live is solid Tory, and I don't have a car). What is the phone app thing I keep hearing about? Making calls to target voters or something? I could spend my evenings doing that, or at my local branch. What're the options there?

Edit: sorry, repeating a lot of Dr Rocks questions there.

If it's like last time, you can do it from home. You ring the app and it puts you through to someone in the marginal you want to target, as I recall. You can sign up to it on that Momentum link.

One thing I can say about Labour Party membership: never lose your card and forget your membership number. I's extremely difficult to retrieve it.

Make a note of it.

How long does it take to arrive? I've been waiting a week or so

Paul Calf

I don't know. I renewed a few days ago and sent an email asking for my membership number but there's been no reply so far.

Rich Uncle Skeleton

Was thinking there's little point really going for it in Bath where it's been Lib Dem since 92 with a two year Tory blip last time, and the constituency next door is Rees bloody Mogg so little to be done there either.

However I saw this Lib Dem tweet posted in the general election thread earlier and leaving aside the brass neck they have to post this, looking at the actual result people are posting in response I hadn't realised it was that close. Not neck and neck by any means but certainly an actual chance of turning it around by some miracle / a fair bit of effort so definitely going to try and get involved in some way!

kitsofan34

That app I mentioned has been delayed till tomorrow. If it's released tomorrow I will let you guys know :)
