QuoteHundreds of Asda workers have held a rally and march in Leeds over the details of a new contract.

The protest by staff from across the country was organised by the GMB union.

Asda is offering staff a higher wage in exchange for a new contract that would introduce unpaid breaks and a requirement to work on bank holidays.

The GMB union are running a campaign

QuoteAsda workers across the country are receiving letters from bosses saying they'll be sacked in 12 weeks' time unless they sign a punishing new contract.

Asda was formed from a Leeds family company built on proud Yorkshire values of hard work and respect. They'd be spinning in their graves now...

I got turned down for a job at ASDA, so I think I have dodged a bullet. Love the arse-smacking routine, the big stone at the front-door with ASDA carved into it, loved seeing people in ASDA uniforms going shopping elsewhere. Am saddened for them, hope they win.

Imagine all that neon green fabric being distended by their giant protuberances, no wonder they fuck like rabbits, they do it in the english foods aisle because no-one goes there because you'd be called a racist if you did. The working class are rough, but they are so good with their hands, there is a brutal efficiency to what they can do, and the sex had in a working class place like ASDA, even hurried in their soon-to-be-unpaid breaks, is of a quality far beyond my capabilities.

I hope nobody murders the CEO of ASDA.

My oldest mate works for ASDA, but reasonably high up the chain of command. We're away for a boys weekend in ten days. I'll no doubt get the company line from him...
