"There's no press here."
"What about this camera crew?"
"Erm, well... by press, I mean print media, quite obviously. Yes. Right, bye now."

Buelligan

I'm somewhat surprised that the people running Johnson and the people running hospitals think it's an appropriate thing to make visits like this.  What the fuck is wrong with these people?

If Johnson really wanted to find out more about the NHS, he could've tried listening to that man rather than trying to close him down and then running away.

What the fuck is going on that people like this are running the country?

I'll presume that Fleet Street will have this man fully doxxed, outed as a Remoaner and forced to flee his home by the end the week.

Buelligan

Some of the press are no better than they ought to be, fuck me, I read that stuff about Ben Stokes and Gareth Thomas (lovely Gareth, isn't it?) just now.  Fuck me.  What kind of free press is it that takes its orders from the spooks and publicly crucifies minor personalities for shits and giggles?  Something very radical needs doing.

Buelligan

Just adding a further thought on the press and the health service because it seems apposite here.  I think it's reasonable to assume that the British free press, like the NHS, is a target for certain repressive neoliberal power bases.  For different reasons, obvs.

I'd say it's not at all unlikely that, just as these groups have sought to underfund and disrupt the health service, highlighting it's manufactured failings after the fact as proof it's not fit for purpose, they've also sought to corrupt and undermine the bona fides of the press so that they may bring it down, into disrepute and finally destroy it.

The Leveson Enquiry should have been a start but the second half of it was axed and the changes to the press-owned regulator ended up just being superficial - and with Johnson now PM the papers know they can more easily get away with whatever they want.

This is a good summary of where things got to with the enquiry: http://www.transparencyproject.org.uk/press-regulation-the-end-of-the-road-for-leveson-reforms/

None of this ever sticks to the fucking bastard, though, does it?

I'd say it was easier with Brexit though, the combination of protest vote for some and lot of established views from others on a single issue rather than who who you want to run the country.

Looks like the dad is already being attacked for daring to criticise the Prime Minister: https://twitter.com/Kevin_Maguire/status/1174320865829412865

I'm sick of these left-wingers with poorly children in crowded hospitals thinking they have the right to give it the biggun to our hardworking politicians. It's basically treason.

Dr Rock

He probably made his kid sick on purpose just to stage this phoney stunt which doesn't count because he already doesn't like Tories.

Buelligan

Glad to see R HULK dealing with these traitors as only he kno how.

Nuke this country now. It's all we deserve.

It would mean "we don't have to hear about brexit anymore", maybe an option of the referendum?

One person has tweeted

QuoteThe said PM is already reversing the cuts made by those before him

Firstly, he isn't and he was MP (and often Cabinet member) in the governing party. They make it sound like Johnson had no involvement in the Tory Party before June 2019.

Quite a few people on Twitter making racist comments about the bloke's name.

Are Johnson's supporters going to smear anyone who criticises the PM? Hardly democratic of them.

Yeah they will probably paint him as some socialist, remainer Labour party activist and.... *looks at his twitter account* oh

Buelligan

because only someone like that would feel worried about the health service or disturbed by Johnson using the ward where their sick baby is for an electioneering photo op, obviously.

Bently Sheds

Laura Kuennsberg tweeting that the angry hospital dad is a Labour Activist, adding a link to his Twitter feed with "Here he is" but omitting the "get him, boys"

This person in particular is really piling on: https://twitter.com/TurquoiseTory/status/1174322835818520576

I mean, how dare he not only be a Labour Party member but go to Oxford.

They won't be able to keep up once Boris seriously starts campaigning.

David Baddiel makes a good point

QuoteWhat's weird about this, as with the unmasking of Boris's girlfriends neighbours as Remainers, is the notion that people who cross paths with politicians in any kind of controversial way must themselves have no politics - which is basically, no people.
