The second one is the best even though anal probe jokes are a bit old hat, but the colouring is good. And just a nice scene with all the pregnancy of a single moment best Far Side has

I think it's supposed to be that they're sitting at a table eating them off plates in a civilised way rather than ripping them apart, but yes it does seem as if it's playing off 'bears eating cub scouts' being a thing, which it may be in America/Canada but not so much in the UK.

yeah I get it now. i'm not saying it's bad, just a bit meh. it's the caption I think. Larson was very selective with text back in the day. he knew not to over-explain things.

anyway, guy wants to draw and show us what's he done so not complaining

I think it's in the category of "Cow tools" where it's playing it off like it's a thing when he's just making it a thing, which is another thing I love and have missed about his work.

It seems like that to me, sometimes he just draws things because they seem like something that would happen in the Far Side universe, rather than them being a joke. And fair play.
