The story behind this one is pretty unusual, it's a video game visual album - PLEASE WAIT - and the music is so good that it's not just one of my games of the year, it's got three of my favourite songs of the year. It's very synthpoppy breathy Scandinavian female vocals, glistening pads, massive fat FM synths surges, buzzy bass lines, gorgeous catchy melodies, aching harmonies. All that good stuff. Some of the choruses are absolutely colossal.

I'll be honest, the absolute best is the proggy medley of tracks that accompanies the last stage and end credits. It's got everything, and I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes listening to it. It's about ten minutes long, with five sections and it's amazing:

To pick out one song from that medley, though, here's Wild Hearts Never Die, perhaps my favourite song of the year and I've just seen that they released it as a single. This sounds like a slow builder for about three seconds but it races through the gears to get to that chorus, rinse and repeat and it's gone. Immense.

It's those enormous buzzy synths that kick in and then that descending vocal melody, fuck me, that's something.

Another favourite is Begin Again, which has another monster chorus and woozy, pretty verses about using music to get through heartbreak. Cryin rn and I'm happily married. The last third where the chorus loops and the harmonies kick in, fuck me.

Another killer is Mine, which is two minutes long and so immediate and bursting with life and love. Makes me feel like a teenager in a great way.

I think this deserves some attention and if you have a PS4, Switch or Apple Arcade, it's a brilliant little rhythm game, as well. Beautiful visuals and really exciting and accessible.

Hope some of you guys enjoy this.
