Thursday

I've gone from still defending the license fee to wanting the BBC burnt to the ground.

gib

Two more days of this bullshit barrage. I wonder what they have left to throw.

Quote

You can't expect a senior political journalist to waste time on fact checking or seeking out sources & evidence.

Thursday

I can't believe it's only just dawning on me, but there is no risk of the Tories taking away the license fee, they'll just forever threaten to.

jobotic

She's now reporting that Labour are all edging that the Tories told a lie.. No you told the lie for them and Labour are stating facts.

idunnosomename

The people who run the BBC, who have cushy consulting jobs waiting for them, don't care if the BBC lives or dies. They are running this campaign of left-insulting deliberately, to make sure that nobody likes the BBC any more and when they put forward a plan to get rid of it, or just get rid of the licence fee and force them to become a PBS type organisation, no-one comes to its defence.

I used to have a lot of respect for Robert Peston, but throughout this election he's been so far up Boris Johnson's arse he can see Laura Kuenssberg's feet.

Right now, LK's wikipedia entry says: "Laura Juliet Kuenssberg (born 8 August 1976) is the British version of Goebbels. In July 2015 she succeeded Nick Robinson as Chief Propagandist of BBC News, the first woman to hold the position.[1][2]"

What are the chances of the BBC reporting this story? Approximately fuck all?

Note that the Tories couldn't even get the name of Leeds General (or "Leeds Hospital") right.

Even by Tory standards it's been a breathtakingly cynical campaign.

Their paid bots pumping out this shit all over twitter, all the dodgy targeted Facebook ads funnelled through some nonsensical campaign group which can't be traced back to the Tories. They've no policies, no vision, just hatred, lies and distraction.

Jerzy Bondov

I didn't think they could have a worse campaign than last time but they've pulled out all the shit smeared stops. That a campaign like this isn't an instant death blow for the careers of everyone involved is depressing. I suppose it still could be. We'll know on Friday!

Just realised I think I was born there

king_tubby

Yeah, it'd be called the LGI by anyone from Leeds, to distinguish it from Jimmy's (St. James').

IRONICALLY, given the names, it was the LGI that Savile hung out at.

These BBC messages "who should you vote for on thursday" are insulting, demeaning and sinister

Gulftastic

Tories = 88% of ads misleading, Labour = 0%.

Let's see how the BBC headline that, shall we?

Ferris

Isn't the push to bin the BBC a bit premature?

The idea is that they're a beacon of establishment centrism, which is very probably true. Getting rid of them presupposes the idea that there are a reasonable selection of better left-wing journalists/publications out there which will take their place.

Have you read the Grauniad recently? It's shit. I don't have a solution here, sorry.

Dr Rock

Get Gina Miller to take them to court.

Reliable proof they were biased during this election.

Mass not paying of license fees.

Some kind of charity single.

We have to treat them like children. We have to order them to do something.

Can we order them?

A similar story with "The Misinformation War Over the Boy in the Hospital", which suggests both sides are as bad as each other, despite it being pretty much one side telling the truth and the other spinning and lying to squirm out of responsibility

No. It may be replaced with worse but there will always be other routes to quality. The BBC has dumbed down in all departments, pandering to populism obviously but leaving little room for creativity, reflection and perspective. Yoy may like the glossy trash the spaff out to wet the knickers of the 'enlightened' but when framed in contrast to Bergerac, the argument for binning comes into sharp focus

Victoria Derbyshire, just now:

"Dua Lipa, Hugh Grant, Alan Sugar, Stormzy. Do celebrities help or hinder a party during an election? On the line we have Dom Joly..."

colacentral

Brass neck on the cunt saying he's depressed about this being an election of lies.

king_tubby

Heh, Dom Joly got rinsed on Twitter by the shitposters.
