Here Comes Mongo

The Port St. Joe Polaroid creeps me out. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disappearance_of_Tara_Calico#Photographs I don't think the girl in the picture is Tara Calico though.

I love how that Wiki article seems to be trying to give not only an age but also a gender to a moustache.

I like how whoever started that Reddit thread put a passive aggressive all caps "SERIOUS" in the title. Maybe we should start doing that round here. Guys, come on, guys, guys cut it out, I'm SERIOUS guys, this thread is only for SERIOUS discussions about creepy things GOD.

Buelligan

Hello.  I haven't read this thread, so forgive me if this post is completely fucking wrong here but I just wanted to tell you about the magical car park at my work.

At my work, there's a gravel car park, it's just surrounded by wild mountainside.  I almost never go in it because I arrive and leave from a different side of the building and using a different gate.  On the very, very, rare occasions I have passed through it, always at night after everyone has gone and it's just me and the moon, weird shit takes place.

The first was a couple of years ago when I was still a smoker.  I could only get into town (to the tabac) very rarely, so running out of tobacco was not a good thing at all.  Anyway, I had run out of tobacco for many terrible hours and was fucking desperate for a cig, finished my shift, left through the car park for some unknown reason, there, in the middle, shining in the moonlighty nighty was a full new pack of my favourite tobacco and papers.

The second time, I was offered a lift home, walked out under the stars to the car and there, in the centre of the car park, right under my foot was a fine silver necklace with a lovely tiny moon amulet on it.  I put it in my bag and sometime later, a chef from somewhere else was visiting and I took it out, I do not know why and asked if it was his (I knew it was for no reason I can understand).  It was and he was incredibly happy to have it back.  I do not know why I knew how this had to go.

This time, walking across in the dark, saw something tiny shining amongst the stones, picked it up.  It was a tiny palme decoration off of a WW1 Croix de guerre medal, that I'd been reading about earlier on the internet for the first time in my life.

I am not even lying.

I don't have a camera.  Perhaps I should ask it for one of those.

Can you find a good gateway next time you walk through the parked cars?

This one popped up recently:

Quote from: DarogaserikI wouldn't say we live in a secluded town, but when my mother was in school her best friend got a job working for the Sheriff. She later came to school and told them that the sheriff had been molesting her.

She also began telling people about what they have been using the tunnels under the town for. The police supposedly, had been filming child pornography.

After that day she never made it home. She was found later naked, hog tied and shot in the back of the head. No one could prove it, and the sheriff had been suspected of many things but nothing ever came of it. They just announced that there was a man seen in a white van abducting people.

But her friends knew. Her family knows.

This is Red Bluff California btw. The tunnels were originally used by Chinese immigrants, they go through our Main Street and through Rio Street, they lead to houses and some businesses but they have been condemned. There are sensors down there though so if you get in the police are right there to get you out.

EDIT The little girls name was Rachelle ward and the sheriff supposedly responsible was Koenig but he died years back of old age.

It sounds a bit far-fetched, but there's a name. A few searches leads to this post on the websleuths forums:

Quote from: waunakeeganRashell Ward, 14, was abducted on her way to school and brutally murdered on March 3rd, 1983. It's been 36 years that the person who killed her has gotten away with this horrible crime. Rashell was raped and killed, and her killer left her on the side of the road nearby her home in Red Bluff, CA.

This case is about as cold as I've ever seen one before. I can't find any articles online about Rashell's case, and the only reason I know about her murder at all is because her sister posted about it in a Facebook group about unsolved cases that I belong to. Possible articles related to Rashell's murder came up on paid-for online newspaper record databases, but these articles are likely from right around the time she was murdered and nothing has been written about her since (I'm not quite ready to subscribe to the newspaper database site to see what the articles said, so I don't know exactly what all the articles said). I did see a short snippet of only one article mentioning her as one of the 100s of victims that Henry Lee Lucas confessed to killing before he recanted, saying he only confessed to these killings to expose the gullibility of the police.

If anyone can find any more information to add about Rashell's rape and murder please post it! This poor girl still has family members trying to speak up about her death, but it looks like the police, media, and the public have not been listening. Please try to raise awareness for this young girl's case by commenting and adding any further information you find on her case while sleuthing.

Investigators doubted that Lucas' claim was true, however.

Quote from: stardustw83Hello I am Rashell's niece. So, there was semen left behind but whom ever left it was a nonsecretor which basically means no DNA was in the semen. Which is terribly sad. We also do not know if she was kidnapped or not. The assumption was that she was taken, perhaps because it's easier to think that way verses her going willingly. We are still trying to get as much information from the Sheriff's dept. but as the case is cold it is still considered open so we are limited with what they can provide. I have done some investigating and A LOT of people are scared to talk. They say they know things but are seriously afraid of being harmed. Even though it's been 36 years.

The sheriff who allegedly killed her is dead. He was also linked to the 1985 murder of a certain Michael Britt. There's more details in the websleuths thread.

I predict Buelligan will go to the car park tonight and find the most rare and precious thing she's ever found: herself.

Or a condom.

I know you don't have a camera. I said post pics. Don't have to be your pics or pigs

touchingcloth

Post pigs.

Pigs or it didn't happen.

Arsed, mate. Pigs.

Cerys

Beware of asking Buelligan's car park for too much.  It has been kind so far, but take the piss and it will gather itself up and sidle away in a massive sulk, leaving nowhere for the cars to park but a tract of bare earth and badgers.

touchingcloth

Maybe the real car parks were the pigs we made along the way.

And the badgers...?

Edit - holy crap, meet THE HOG BADGER!

Chupacabra!

bgmnts

The fat cunt can weigh up to 30lbs apparently. Unit.

Sadly a threatened species due to poaching.

Cerys

Maybe it could find some weaponry in a car park, the better to defend itself against the poaching cunts,  I'm thinking a chainsaw or two.

I'm finding myself remembering a freaky experience I had when I was about three or four.  My mum's friend Carol and her son Peter were visiting, and my bedroom was being used as a temporary guest room for them.  My brother had the sofa, while I slept in his bed.  I remember waking in the night to see a creature sitting on the bedside table, watching me.  To my kiddified mind, the thing it most resembled was a pterodactyl - albeit one small enough to sit on a bedside table.  I'd estimate that it was about twelve to eighteen inches tall.  I stared at it and it stared at me, and then it opened its beak and produced a sound like the one it's quite easy for the human throat to replicate - like a thumbnail being dragged across the teeth of a comb.  You know the one I mean.  The odd thing is that I don't remember it scaring me too much.  It unsettled me, but not to the point of needing to call out for my mum.  I just remember getting out of bed, going downstairs to the bathroom and using my potty - which suggests I was closer to three than four - and saying hello to the dog.  The house was cold, or at least the bathroom was.  When I went back to bed, the creature had gone.  I didn't have much difficulty getting back to sleep, and I don't think I worried that it might return.  I don't even remember telling anyone about it until years later.

BlodwynPig

Had many of those incidents as a child. Hog badger in a car park being the spookiest

Have you heard the story of when John Jones went spelunking in Nutty Putty Cave?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kebNZwYLX2w

Not a mystery, but a very disturbing true tale that stays with you. I had to stop the playback twice just to remind my body I was in fact breathing freely and able to stand up.

"My husband sadly passed away some years ago. He was trapped in Nutty Putty Cave."

"That in Alton Towers?"

Crikey, that's scary. I remember a friend telling me he saw a giant wasp in a bush as a kid.

I remember dreaming that there was somebody standing over me, and waking up suddenly and I still thought I could see them there for a moment. Jumped up and screamed and that.

I like how whoever started that Reddit thread put a passive aggressive all caps "SERIOUS" in the title.

It's an option available when you make a post.  If you don't do it you're likely to get a load of jokey answers, sometimes it goes so far as to ruin the whole thread.  In the instance of creepy stories they obviously want real ones rather than someone's attempt at creative writing.

Cuntbeaks

Any creepy story that begins with, "i woke up in the middle of the night and..." or "i was falling asleep when...", should be dismissed immediately.

You were dreaming or experiencing sleep paralysis, fuck all happened, so stop trying to pass this off as something that actually occurred in the real world.
