What will they do if Corbyn wins?

It's not going to be allowed is it?

Made up allegations of impropriety? Poisoned marrow? Full on bloody coup?

At the very  least some "voter fraud" will be discovered.

NoSleep

The Queen could step in and tell us to vote again, as the result was unacceptable, like her representative oversaw in Australia many years back when a left wing government was voted in by the people. Which is why the Royals get short shrift from the Aussies.

Danger Man

Do an Indira Ghandi and get assassinated by his own bodyguards.

NoSleep

The shit will really hit the fan if Corbyn/Labour succeed. We will be under fire from the capitalist world; suddenly becoming Venezuela or Bolivia overnight.

Buelligan

I think we're going to find out the answer in just over a week's time.  Have pitchforks held in readiness is my advice.

colacentral

Mass shorting of the pound to fool the plebs.

Seriously, even thinking about Corbyn waving outside Downing Street brings (happy) tears to my eyes. I can't allow myself to think about it, it's just too beautiful, the thought that the majority of people in this country see through the lies and vindictiveness, the spitefulness, the xenophobia and stand up against the fucking filth that's ruining this country. And the thought that the majority will reject something so good, so kind and decent in favour of those cunts is terrifying. I'm feeling quite down about it today and feel genuinely sick imagining 5 years of these vermin and the destruction they will bring about.

Don't feel down hzj, you've done so much to make victory possible and there's still time but everyone, everyone, must do whatever is in their power to make the Dream a reality.  We are so nearly there my darlings, keep fucking pushing.

And you're not wrong pancs, this isn't just about Britain, this is something, whichever way it goes, that will send a message out to the world.  Let's make sure that message is one of HOPE.

I agree completely. Well put. I am fucking terrified of next week. To see what we could have and then see it crushed. Look at Rayner's statement about schools this morning...fuck.

Paul Calf

I'll be in the US just as the results percolate down into the mass media.

Should I come back?

I think she should stick to agony-aunting and being dead for the last 9 years.

Buelligan

It's actually making me cry a tiny bit too.  I cannot imagine how it will be to see the darkness lifted.

Fully expecting next Thrusday to go something like this

I wonder how much impact it might have in the US? it would basically kick away Trumps last major support in the west and moreso sends a message that change isn't impossible.

I'm guessing nothing openly terrible will happen if Labour win but I think you'll see a ramping up of aggression in the press and establishment generally and perhaps some movement within to try and spilt the party?

Equally I could see some hope from them that they can pull another Tom Watson and just trick people into a Trojan horse successor ala Lenín Moreno within a year or two, don't think that's likely to work with a Labour leadership electric though, the voter base is too well informed and aware of this potential.

Absolutely ridiculous. Black cab drivers aren't allowed in to Heaven.

Buelligan

I saw a black cab in London once with the number plate RAC 15T, I am not even lying.

Mass shorting of the pound to fool the plebs.

It is running close to 52wk highs (vs USD & EUR) from a recent rally, so I'd bet, err, money on it being hammered if a vaguely left (but mostly centre by European standards) government got in.

Funcrusher

Chris Nineham has been talking about this recently, and has a book out about the British state's likely response to a socialist government.

BlodwynPig

Corbyn should just become a Marxist dictator on Day 1, asset strip the security services and military and invite junta of the world to be his personal bodyguards.

Buelligan

Or re-brand Britain as a sort of Tracy Island for terrorists.

jobotic

He'll have to be destroyed before people's lives start to improve of course.

druss

It won't happen. Tory landslide more likely.

Neville Chamberlain

A landslide of Tories, i.e. a landslide made up entirely of Tories, i.e. it's a load of Tories actually in a landslide, i.e. the landslide itself is made up of Tories, not mud, i.e. it's actually Tories sliding down the side of a mountain etc etc

Anyone remember the BBC's election coverage in the 90's or early 2000's where during the late night coverage with all the swingometer gubbins they illustrated a landslide by showing the mp's in the house of commons being literally buried under a fall of bricks?

greencalx

I heard for this one they were going to have a CGId Swinson laying a big turn on Corbyn's head.
