I've just watched a Max Bygraves episode of Family Fortunes on Challenge, and man alive, Max is phoning his performance in. I've rarely seen anyone more obviously doing it for the money.

God yes, Bygraves was s.h.i.t.e. I think they got him in* after Bob Monkhouse was lured to the BBC to do Bob's Full House.

Mind you, Les Dennis was shite too. I'm baffled at how he managed to achieve such longevity given his total ineptitude at doing banter with the contestants. When they say something outlandish or daft you're supposed to put a funnier topper on it, and he was almost never up to the task. He was also crap at building tension in the end game.
