It's now the least bad future we can hope for but yeah, the president can't really change much, can he?

Just wheel in the ghost of Adolf Hitler if that's the case

I think the point is that there's only so far any US president can go against this particular neoliberal, capitalist system.  Anyone wanting to go further in any right-wing direction and make it even better for the billionaires can presumably fill their boots.

A people's vote is the only way forward

What the fuck happened to Brexit. Maybe World War 3 will stop Brexit? Will Johnny Islington bounce up and down on a trampoline for that?

Didn't you realise, Brexit happened while you were sleeping. It's WAR MODE for the next 5 years

Fambo Number Mive

The Withdrawel Agreement Bill is currently.being debated in the House of Commons.

jobotic

How much braying is going on? Has Francois got his little pinger out yet? Is Rees-Mogg lying on the floor?

Fuck that.

Fambo Number Mive

MPs have voted 348 to 252 against a Labour amendment which reinstated child refugee protection rights in the Withdrawal Agreement Bill.

phantom_power

And hardly a word about it on the BBC news site. It appears these cunts will continue to not be held accountable for their actions

Neville Chamberlain

Nicked this off of somewhere:

QuoteSummary which shows the trend of voting on amendments to the Withdrawal Bill, as it wafts through a Parliament with a Conservative majority.

"Other priorities in the news lately, but Parliament have been busy over the last two days. Here's how the caring, one nation Tories were whipped into voting:

Voted against having an appeal process for EU citizens living in the UK who are denied settled status.

Voted against the right to permanent residence for those arriving just before the end of the transition period.

Voted against the right for child refugees to reunite with their families in the UK

Voted against a motion to ensure Northern Ireland had the right to unfettered access to UK markets.

Voted against seeking negotiations to align the single market with the EU.

Voted against the right for parliament to have amendable motions on the EU/UK on the future relationship or the negotiation objectives with the EU.

Voted against comprehensive negotiation with the EU and on workers rights.

Voted against negotiating an extension of the Erasmus programme for young students.

Brilliant! Thanks, Brexiters!

katzenjammer

None of those things will affect yer average leave voter so they won't care, if anything they'll be happy about all of these.  Sticking it to students and the EU

ah, the beautiful, smooth process of a majority government and the silencing of the EU nutjobs screaming about coups and fascism

Not sure if you missed it, but we're leaving the EU and can sort all that out ourselves now

I would say history would look unkindly upon the FBPEs but the truth is, they'll be completely forgotten. Brexit is a travesty but by refusing any reasonable means to make constructive changes rather than bellowing slogans, they've allowed it to happen.

There's nothing that needs fixing.  They wouldn't be able to do all this if it weren't for the referendum result.
