It's a game show with Fred Savage that he's apparently been on for the past two years.

This is Ricky at his best pretty good making pedo jokes and acting passive aggressive. The Weinstein joke was nice and sharp. I think what really sells it is the audience reactions the po-faces who (rightly) can't believe this lesser talented but more honest cunt is calling them out. Though people did seem to genuinely laugh at the image of Dame Judi Dench licking her own vagina like a cat.

BBC Breakfast this morning had their showbiz correspondents analysing the Gervais and joking about all the clips they couldn't show (presumably because it's still against the rules to accuse anyone of pedophilia on the BBC). But it's the Golden Globes, if you're not taking the piss out of the attendants at the most absurd and least meaningful awards event of the year, then you probably couldn't shoot Hitler in a barrel.

A few years ago Vulture did a profile of every single Golden Globe voter and everyone getting excited over the awards should be forced to read it. (Examples: the supposed Russian critic Alexander Nevsky: "Nevsky's real name isn't actually the same as the title of that Eisenstein movie. It's Sasha Kuritsyn, and he's a bodybuilder who moved to Hollywood, starred in B-movies, and somehow found himself in the HFPA." People are also propagating the idea that those that you can tell who is chill and who is an asshole from whether they laugh at the jokes, not thinking that some just might not find the jokes funny, and that some would laugh at everything to give the illusion of them being "chill". I think it's the difference between the US/Canada where you suck up to the rich and famous and the rest of the world. That's why Gervais still seems dangerous. But a few more years of Trump and general Twitter discourse that should change.
