I'm talking about the first 25 seconds of this by Ruxpin (of his Avalon album, which you should ALL check out)

To narrow it down, it is the same feeling one gets listening to Genesis' Ravine

This is a very particular request...take me to that otherworld

Would this 20 year old ambient track by Ceephax fit the bill?

Thank you, this is quite close (although there are of course plenty of these type of ambient tracks around similar to this, so don't be fooled that I am looking for more of the same - the image accompanying the song works too).

A free doughnut if anyone can twist my small intestine like the tracks in the OP do.

Try some of this:

Can't go wrong with a bit of crow caw. Thought it was too minimal for my tastes, but the wooziness slowly seeps into the stomach and below...thanks

'Always' by 36.

Actually, just about everything he's done. A few rhythmic tracks aside he's a one trick pony, but he has an ear for emotive, melancholic melody like nobody else I've ever heard. This is a slow-burner of a track - unsurprising at 10 minutes - but it gets me in the gut and has astonishing textures. If you like this I'd track down just about everything he's done, he rarely disappoints.

'Dust' by Deaf Center
Actually an unreleased track, only available as part of their Secret Thirteen mix, starts at 15:40 here: https://youtu.be/XZLvkYMnnTA?t=940
One for the old 'holy grails' thread, I'd love to have a proper hi-res version of this track. A gorgeous, hugely enveloping and highly melancholic piece of ambience. I asked Erik Skodvin whether they'd ever consider releasing it properly and he said it's a possibility, I'm still holding out hope. Probably my favourite unreleased track ever.

If you're not a fan of Carbon Based Lifeforms I'll be surprised, but they seem a good match to the thread. 'Refraction 1.33' is their best ambient track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2Rtm831dVk
You're right, there is a lot of ambient stuff with this sound, and most of it bores me (I've listened to far too much Hakobune over the years), but some people just have the right ears to make amazing tracks, and this really does it for me. As with a lot of CBL, there's a real sense of vastness.
From their more rhythmic stuff, my choices would be 'M': https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYoOrOc_Roc and 'Loss Aversion': https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzqiUi5-v5I

HOLOVR's Holo Earth is pretty murky and lo-fi but has a similarly textural, emotive isolation to it. Split into two 20 minute suites with skittering beats and beautiful sad synths. https://viroidlife.bandcamp.com/album/holo-earth

Mikron's Embers was one of my favourite records of last year and combines gorgeous melancholic synths with beats and lots of lovely textures. 'Embers' is an incredible opener: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQdwRc3MZrA and 'Locus Reave' is my favourite of the faster-tempo pieces: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nE3HBnsCNjg

I had a compliation years ago (it is upstairs in my records... I'll dig it out tomorrow). It had Farben and Sutekh tracks on it and that was the first thing that came to mind.

What about this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4crAZROLJL8

It's quite as dreamy as what you posted but has that click snare over nice ambient background. It'll come to me. This might be the track. It is more minimal than ambient but it's lush.

Nah. That not what you after. Will keep going.

A lot of good and familiar stuff here. Of the music I don't have, Ulf Lohmann was probably the closest to what I was after, the rest either was too glitchy or great but didn't inspire the sensation in my ileum.

That Ruxpin track intro put me in mind of Global Communication- The Deep (which I'm sure you know)
