Episode 9:  The Expedition - Genuinely thought the front page was from Doctor Who for a split second.

My initial reaction was similar, in the sense that one of the actors resembled Hartnell to my eyes and the words MONTE CARLO kept resolving as MARCO POLO.  I didn’t fully think it was a Doctor Who cover only because I knew I wasn’t taking photos for Marco Polo yet.

I guessed that someone in addition to me would make that connection, too.  Not long to wait until the first Doctor Who Radio Times cover, though.

I think this page is already reaching the limit of how many images it can hold.  I may share The Aztecs here tomorrow, but will then hold back until enough discussion has occurred to push us onto page three.

These are lovely, thank you for posting them.

I find it strangely melancholy and somehow comforting reading Humphrey Lyttleton posting about some jazz around a decade before he started ISIHAC.

Please let me know if you'd like me to share anything particular in these threads in addition to what I'm already uploading.  For example if you are interested in seeing the contents of a page that I haven't included, or the entirety of any particular issue (the BBC 2 launch issue might be a contender, for example).

There are two more stories to complete season 1.  Once they're done I'll fish out any Doctor Who articles that appeared between seasons 1 and 2, and I'll also share all the letters pages.  If there's anything from the season 1 issues you'd like me to revisit in more detail, I'll do it in that gap.

I know that the listings page for one of the episodes of The Reign of Terror - Ep 4, I think - has a photo of Patrick Troughton on it as well, because he was making a guest appearance in Dr Finlay's Casebook that week.

Oh and I never realised that they'd done a TV adapation of Ann Veronica, so cheers for that.

Keep an eye out for Carole Anne Ford in a repeat of the Moonstrike episode ‘Five Hours to Kill’ (in the same issue as The Sensorites, Episode 2) and for Frazer Hines appearing in the lead role of the new drama Smuggler’s Bay, beginning on Sunday, July 12th (The Sensorites, Episode 3).

Oh look:  July 12th is a Sunday in 2020, as well.  A 1964 calendar would work as a 2020 calendar because all the dates match up.  Just realised that, and it is an enormously fun fact I am sure you’ll agree.

I have to say my computer is struggling a bit with the images. Chrome just refuses point blank and Firefox is wheezing like a grampus.

It’s hard to know whether a lack of response here means that most people aren’t getting the same problem, or people have stopped reading the thread because the images are such a ball ache to download.

It’s a such a shame as I’d really like to share this stuff and it has potential to be a fun project as long as people are able to see it all.

I’m going to keep images down to two stories per page (this page has three, and the first page more), and hope this solves the problem for those experiencing it.

For me, it's slower to load than normal pages but not overly problematic.

Same. Just takes time to load them up, but I get them. And, once again, it's appreciated Replies.
