Looking at the actual article - this is only for Radio 1 anyway, I imagine the airplay of any version of that song is going to be minimal, and all the angry boomers can listen to it on Radio 2 anyway with 6 taking a policy of 'let the dj's choose which version they want to play'. It's quite probably the article was put out just to make angry uncles howl about the culture wars.
