Can't claim that I can provide an extensive overview of his career, but I have plenty of flac files of music he either played on or wrote - including some recent discoveries for me.

You could probably play just Chick Corea music on a weekly radio show for a year and have a different track list each time.

I have finally worked out how to route a live mic and music files to the soundcard in Windows 10. It was so easy in XP.

I've also found a freeware playout system called RadioDJ. Is anyone else using it?

its what the station im on uses - it's proven a good bit of kit - though setting up the sql database is  a bit of a pain in the arse at first

No radio from me tonight, sorry. I'm feeling fatigued with a headache so don't really want to spend more time in front of a computer screen and want to get an early night's sleep.

I tested negative with a lateral flow covid test but might book a more accurate swab test tomorrow if I still feel rough next morning.

I think I'll deputise for you tonight, so there will be some CaB Radio on tonight.

What I'm going to do is play some more of my Sun Ra Special, originally heard on CaB Radio 12 years ago.



It will be a history of Sun Ra starting from before he was even called Sun Ra in Birmingham, Alabama, through to his period in Chicago then on to New York, if we're lucky.

Yeah. I couldn't get MySQL to install at all, so I installed MariaDB. I'm really impressed with it. For freeware, it's unbelievably good. There's so often a price to pay. Some freeware does what you want but in an arse about face way, and some doesn't do what you want at all. RadioDJ really does everything I want it to. I'm in the process of building a little studio in my back bedroom based around it. I'll have to hop on here with it one night.
