is that sign legit?  it looks like it's made up by a Russian bot.  Surely no one is that stupid.

Yes mate, engage your critical thinking and blindly believe everything as it is presented to you without considering who is doing the presenting and why.

Use of the definite article twice before "Queens English" and no apostrophe either.  Wouldn't happen if we were still in the EU.

Sent it to my mate and his Polish wife.  She immediately spotted the extra "the" and other grammatical errors.  Again - she's Polish.

Mind you, like others I can also believe that it was written that way purposely by someone who knew exactly what they were doing.

You could try asking BlodwynPig; they seem pretty switched on but I'm not sure if they've seen it.

Re: Norwich tower block, it was a resident who put up the signs, because the CCTV was checked and no one came in through the building, the person who put it up knew where they could do without it being noticed.

Yes, according to this article, there were signs put up on each of the fifteen floors in the building.

Huh?

That's a dig at me because I dared to doubt the critical thinking skills that he proudly announced he possesses. Hopefully, we shall see who's right when the police catch the culprit.

Or a shit-stirring Pole, Rumanian, or person of African or Asian ancestry.

Why is it so necessary to establish whether the words of the prophets were actually put up by an ignorant hatefilled racist?  It's not as if we don't know they exist everywhere.  They do.  And here's to you, Tommy Robinson.

I thought he was a proud Britisher who hated modern capitalist conservativism.  I know he's never been one to openly talk about his political views, but he's been plenty and openly negative about right-wing governments for decades, has always been big on inclusivity, has been outspoken about corruption in right leaning politics, and has long favoured a society without the enormous class divides we have now.  I can just about accept all that as centre-ish, but, unless he's been lying and/or contrary over the years (I'm no Iron Maiden fan, so I'm not hot on him), nothing I've read or heard him say makes me think he's a tory, or even a conservative (with a small 'c').

Again, just as leave voter does not automatically=tory, neither does rich rock star automatically=tory.

And, when it comes to the music and accusations of right-wing leaning there, I think I'm right in saying most of their stuff is written by the bassist?

Maybe a long-term Maiden fan can fully furnish us with the complete picture...

From a 2017 interview with Kim Kelly in Vice:
QuoteKK: That's another thing that struck me about the book. In it, you describe visiting concentration camps, you visited Sarajevo. You were in a rock 'n' roll band during the Thatcher years. And yet, there are very few mentions of politics to be found.

BD: There's not really anything to say about politics during the period that hasn't already been said by much more learned commentators than me. I'm a musician. Do I have political views? Yes. Is an autobiography a place to put them? No. What that does is that it attaches an inordinate amount of weight and self-importance to your own political viewpoint, which, if people want to hear your political viewpoint, then be a politician! Join a political party or do whatever. Stand up and say, "I think you need to hear my political views because I'm especially qualified to tell you why you should do what I think." I don't have any of that special sauce. I've got no crystal ball. I'm no expert witness on stuff. If you want to hear about what I think about politics, I'll tell you, but why does it matter? I'm just one citizen out of millions and I have one vote and so does everyone else. The fact that I'm famous for being a musician or doing whatever, sorry, it's not enough reason other than salacious curiosity or an attempt to dig up a story which they can then immediately slap down.

But I would fit somewhere. I'm right of center, but not very far. Put it this way. I'm not a socialist at all but I do believe in a nice humanistic approach to the way society should be run. I think there's a difference between profit and greed. I think profit is a way of measuring how efficiently a business or a society is being run. Greed is just evidence of its corruption and fecundity. I'm not a fan of greed. For those reasons, some of the Thatcher years were appalling, but at the same time, what happened to the UK during those years was transformative. Because at the end of the 70s, we were toast. The country was washed up. At the end of the 80s, it was not. In between was a whole other thing, some of which I didn't agree with, but every politician makes mistakes.

FFS, Bruce - 'mistakes'?

I wonder if moneybags in the penthouse of my building is still flying the EU flag from the flagpoles. I might go out later and look.

Or in the event that I cannot be bothered, can someone else find out and tell me?
