Isn't it better to get them out the other side before making any grand proclamations? I'm sure it's easier to apply no conditions to your love when the worst they can do is excrete and make noises, rather than, say, firebombing a care home.

yeah but my son is funnier and cleverer than you or I (or indeed, everyone) so the best thing to do is offer unconditional love in the hope that (once he rules the world circa 2045) he'll shower you with benevolence such as a plum job at the treasury and/or clean drinking water
