On train to nearby Figeres, Dali Museum  job's a good 'un.

Have look at former flat where Lisa Jamc lived in their Barcelona days, round corner from unfinished cathedral. Then look at unfinished cathedral, very good.

Have look at other flat where Lisa lived with porn film dialogue translator, round corner from statue commemorating where unfinished cathedral designer got knocked down by tram, then go and see statue, very good.

Dunno. Never been.

I have! One of the very few occasions I get to join in.

Except it was years and years ago and I can't remember the names of anything. I went to see the The Ladybug Transistor in a dilapidated old ballroom. There was a wonderful bar nearby. Happy to help.

Barcelona residence marked part of my Naomi days.

Eat at Tickets. It's ridiculous. They tell you how many bites you are allowed on each morsel.

You'll get rekt as well, because every morsel comes with its own cocktail.

Barcelona has some really varied nightlife.

There are plenty of Tapas bars where you can't get through a small beer without having to consume a starters worth of food, but it isn't the same as Madrid where that's the overwhelming format.

In the centre El Bosc de Les Fades is a great one off venue for artwork and a nice atmosphere, as is Pipa Club.

Bar Pastis is my favourite, a tiny macabre bar with folk music performances. Relatively hostile to students and tourists but unlike most other bars anywhere.

Bar Marsella is near legendary. Falling to pieces and becoming more beautiful by the day. Rescued by the council for millions. It is great.

Craft beer, you've got the encyclopedia of stuff at BierCaB, Garage Bar brewpub and the expensive but high quality Kaelderkold.

I quite liked Can Codina as it was the nearest to a nice mid-tempo pub, sit down yet not obliged to eat. Nice German beer options.

Abuse a donkey and take part in a Catalan independence rally.

La Ramblas is cool too.

Meh...they've got one of them in Bruges. It's shit.

The 'EL Born' area around the Basilica Santa Maria del Mar was good. I enjoyed restaurant Casa Delfin, which is reasonably priced, and the famous 'Cal Pep' tapas bar is nearby.

Gurke and Hare

Dive off Las Ramblas into the maze of streets to the east, and just wander aimlessly round.

Similarly, wander round the Gracia area - lots of Gaudi houses round there.

Parc Guell

Catch the funiculars up to Tibidabo, then walk to the top of the Vallvidrera funicular. Then go up the Montjuic funicular for a funicular hat-trick. You can get a cable car back down to the port area from there.

Go and watch the magic fountain doing its lights and music thing at Placa Espanya - touristy and tacky as hell, but fun.

Sagrada Familia's good.

Boqueria market on La Rambla is good.

It's all good really. Just walk round looking at stuff.

i have actually been to Barcelona so um. The cathedral is very cool, it is a genuine medieval one once you get inside although the west front is 19th century. The choir stalls are good. Other amazing medieval church in the old quarter is Santa Maria del Mar. La Sagrada Familia, Gaudi's massive church which is still being built, is a fair way away from the centre in the Eixample district (you need to take the metro), but fuck me, go, it's incredible. Even better than the Alan Parsons Project song.

The MNAC is a brilliant museum too. It is all Catalonian art but every period is incredibly rich. You have full frescos from 12th century churches that were removed so they weren't destroyed in the Civil War.

Park Guell is also lovely too, and other Gaudi buildings. Casa Batlló you can pay to visit and go on the roof even though it does still have private apartments. Great views of the city from up there.

Actually shit I went up the roof of Casa Mila. Anyway be ready to learn ALL about Gaudi
