This glorious animation is one of the best things about H*R

That and the duck feeding simulator.

Homestar Runner was incredible. Two brothers just deciding to make something completely unedited, and coming out with this lovely, innocent world full of dumb boys. It's just lovely. Strong Bad always looking for babes, but being absolutely sexless. It's just what he thinks he's supposed to do. Strong Sad being relatable and the smart voice. A town poopsmith. Everything about it is just delightful.

If you haven't seen it, I think Lil' Brudder is a good starting point. An uncanny impression of Strong Sad's "I probably could" is one of my go-tos.

You all understand! I mean don't understand.

The point and click adventure game for wii was great as well.

I can't say enough good things about it. The Brothers said that they created it partially as a response to all the aggressive, South Park-aping Flash animations that dominated Newgrounds and other sites at the turn of the Millennium and it does a brilliant job of filling the gap they saw. For better or worse, I think it was a major inspiration in the so-called CalArts style of animation (Matt Chapman was directly involved in Gravity Falls, of course).

I usually recommend the Dragon sbemail as a starting point.

It's a cartoon for people who feel comfort in seeing a Commodore Vic 20.

There was a thread in GenBull some time back about feeling nostalgia for something that you never even experienced the first time round, I mentioned that generation of computers and pre-Web internet generally. So yeah, Strong Bad's computing always an appeal to me. Or maybe it was the genesis of that fauxstalgia? I'm not even sure.

Whilst I'm overlapping topics, I think I posted in the small things that make you laugh much more than intended thread that Coach Z's muffled "That happened once!" in response to SB muttering that he "wouldn't know "majesty" if it bit him in the face" in Dragon still cracks me up to this day.

check-check checkin the email on lappy 386

it always felt weirdly constrained by the sbemail format but i guess that was part of the joke. that the strong bad emails were essentially the main content and the lead character was a fucking idiot who no one liked.

they have a lot of them on YouTube now as flash is being phased out and will be totally unsupported at the end of this year. it's a shame you don't have the ability to press tab to find the easter eggs. it's funny how the animation holds up but remember before YouTube you couldn't really have videos streaming in your browser. this was all you could do, and the Chaps did it bloody well.

anyway have the ballad of the sneak!! in his strange oldey-timey world that doesn't seem to be tied to a particular pre-war decade!

I fucking love Homestar!

H*R.com is, by itself, sufficient justification for the internet.

PlanktonSideburns

does anyone remember when if you spelled the name wrong it redirected to a pornography site?

he is a fucking idiot though, i think that's undeniable

I remember an episode where Homestar dresses up as The Sneak and tries to convince Strong Bad that he's him. Obviously Strong Bad clocks that it's Homestar before he even says anything and sighs a withering "Well this is hilarious."

Even though it's many years since I've seen that I still sometimes think about it and laugh.

Ah yeah, Senor Cardgage is a big deal for me. It was as recently as Sunday that I dragged a bag behind me on the floor and mumbled "Excuse me merm, could you spare a decisions for an old denominator?" at somebody. I want to dress as him for Halloween one day, as I'd just need the glasses really and that's it.

Strong Bad finding him cool is so perfect. They really know their character well, those Brothers Chapman.

madhair60

It was Strong Sad's re-use of "excardon me" that got me this time.

Dewt

Also his bag being an Aldi bag

imitationleather

Hehehe. I had completely forgotten about Senor Cardage.

Homestar Runner was basically the only good website for a couple of years back there.

Dewt

Apparently the Brothers Chapman really liked Bod and that was a huge influence on them. You can see it in Homsar

a couple of weeks ago i watched a 40 minute video of them playing the Trogdor board game. dont regret my decision

Love King of Town and Strong Mad.

My favourite was always Strong Bad's commentary on fan-made Halloween costumes.

Are you all aware of the Bros. Chaps work for the Disney Corporation?

So yes, Jimmy-Jimmy, there have been parades honoring The Cheat, but don't let that from stopping you from organizing your own. He can be the Grand... Marshal.

He's also available for proms and pizza parties.

The King of Town booing Strong Sad from offscreen in this sbemail is another of my favourite little moments https://youtu.be/GWrLnbRDNWQ
