Segovia and Mark Kozelek

Got round to listening to Red House Painters/Sun Kil Moon/Mark Kozelek and my favourite SKM album was Admiral Fell Promises. Reading about the making of this album I learned that Kozelek wanted to make an album with a classical music style after listening to a five CD set of Segovia and some similar things. I couldn't find that set but enjoyed the IDIS "The Art of Segovia" 8 CD set, especially 5-8 (the later recordings) and Segovia plays Bach/Sor etc. Then I thought I'd be going in for more of this kind of thing but many of the earlier guitar maestros sound a bit messy and strummy by comparison. I wouldn't even call them maestros.

Enjoyed some Julian Bream, John Williams, Narciso Diaz, Ida Presti, Alirio Diaz, Christopher Parkening.. but not really lovin' anything like CDs 5-8 Segovia. Any ideas?

Is it still worth seeing Kozelek live? He's playing in Union Chapel this year.
