That's right not a single Prince song listed there

I love Prince but haven't yet been hooked by any of his Batman songs

Norton Canes

I liked the Smashing Pumpkins one at the time but I was a wee lad then and in hindsight it was the end of the beginning of the end for Billy "William" Corgan as a serious musician

Vicki Waiting is the choice deep cut from his Batman soundtrack. Sounds like something that could have been on 'Sign O The Times', but with lyrics about Batman characters. I do have a certain amount of affection for Batdance. It's a sonic dog's breakfast but Prince going "BAT...MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!" all over it is something I've grown to find hilarious over the years. "This 1's the single, Tim. Hope u like it."

I fucking love Batdance. Mad as a lorry.

Golden E. Pump

'Scandalous' is the best track on the Batman soundtrack. non capisco is right to give a shout out to 'Vicki Waiting' as well (although the unreleased version with more guitar is better). There's also the extended version of 'Partyman' which is a hoot, and 'The Future' is a pretty good tune.

The Jam's cover of the Batman theme presses home the point that it was kinda proto-punk.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gt9TgKkmE9U

OK, relistened to the original theme and it really wasn't.  It did, however, throw me into a loop of 22-second long Marvel cartoon themes from the '60s that all sounded pretty much exactly the same.

If I ever become a rockstar I'm going to rename myself Wayne Manors.

Still a great song. Billy embodying Batman. Mind you, when you're sharing a soundtrack with R Kelly's "Gotham City" you're always going to sound good.

Partyman is my favourite Prince song.

The Batman theme is basically just a 12-bar surf instrumental like Wipe-out really

Yeah, must admit that I nicked that idea from Sick On You.  And it was their singer who renamed him that as revenge for getting paid to be in the band by their manager, wasn't it?

What a great biog.  Favourite moment was when they yoinked a mystery box from outside a fish and chip shop because they were broke and starving, and when they opened up their loot in their squat it turned out to be a box full of live eels which immediately leapt out and writhed into various corners of the squat, where they lived evermore.  Rock and/or roll!

Also this, which is noteworthy solely because it is an instrumental song released on an album by a singing actor, who it seems had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the recording of the song:

i knew The Ventures covered it (what didn't they cover) but i couldn't have told you Link Wray did a version

Norton Canes

Sorry - because I didn't include a link when I mentioned it upthread - it's this. This is the best. This is the best. Don't even.

Lesley Gore - California Nights of course. 'Ah, the Milkshake A Go Go'!

Remember getting very confusing feelings when this suddenly appeared without warning in the middle of a 1990s daytime Batman repeat.

Is it me or is no one mentioning The Who on purpose and I just didn't get the message?
