Angelica Garcia - Cha Cha Palace

This is one of the best pop albums I've heard in quite some time. If you don't know who Angelica Garcia is, she's a Mexican-Salvadoran-American from LA who makes really catchy music, often about her Mexican-Salvadoran heritage. She mixes Latin sounds with a sort of 90s indie-pop vibe. If I had to compare her to similar artists, I'd say there is an early M.I.A. influence, but I also got major Janelle Monae vibes in how upbeat and groovy her album is. Also Courtney Barnett in her down to earth, relatable lyrics.

Anyway, check it out!

For multiple reasons I am listening to Heart. Yes they are fucking ace -anyone here want to agree with me? Lol! But It's spooky how much the tonality of Angelica's voice is similar to Nancy Wilson's. Which just makes me like both of them more.*

*these are the kinds of micro hot-takes that will become more common as I self isolate.
