I saw in the Kitson thread that he's just uploaded an old show online, and thought it might be a good idea to compile a thread of other good show recommendations, for anyone who's getting stuck indoors in the near future.

Maybe good free stuff but also good paid stuff so we can help out standups who are having all their gigs cancelled. Netflix and NextUp recommendations are also valid

To begin:

My favourite comedian Sam Campbell put up his 2018 show The Trough yesterday: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYyCuG8HcjY&t

Adam Hess' 2015 show Salmon is also free on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsIYWezuTMY

Johnny White Really Really has two incredible shows (Pigeons and Unending Torment) on his Bandcamp plus some other odds and sods: https://johnnywhitereallyreally.bandcamp.com/

Small Man Big Horse

I've yet to see the show but I was fond of the nights Ben Van Der Velde used to MC in Kilburn, and his full length show Barbarians is here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wS_hCgOYbls&t=9s

Gurke and Hare

Audio only, but here is Kitson's 2005 show as recorded by me.

DrGreggles

Might be a good time for us all to share some our stuff - Google Drive and Dropbox and that.

peanutbutter

Not Edinburgh but Bo Burnham's What is free on Youtube and it's pretty fantastic stuff.

Small Man Big Horse

Somewhat interestingly while the Soho Theatre, Leicester Square Theatre and Museum Of Comedy (among others) have all shut down, both 2Northdown and Angel Comedy are staying open for the time being. I'm not sure how I feel about this, many a comedian is self-employed and going to lose a fuck load of money so they do have my sympathy, but at the same time I think I'm going to give live comedy a miss for the time being.

Sick. Is this Stories for the Wobbly-Hearted or the other (unnamed?) one?

More hot tips: Jack Evans and Sean Morley do a fantastic podcast called Mandatory Redistribution Party, and Evans released a bootleg of his show Work in the podcast feed. Really worth checking out.

Also there are twelve free hour long shows available in the ABC Comedy Presents podcast feed. The best ones imo are Dan Rath and Geraldine Hickey but there's something for pretty much every taste

Small Man Big Horse

Angel Comedy are going to be live streaming an audience-less comedy night on Sunday evening - https://www.youtube.com/user/angelcomedyclub

And Robin Ince has announced a number of gigs along the same lines under the banner "The Stay at Home Show Evening Show", I know it's Ince but I think he's only MC-ing and so far the likes of Josie Long, Stephen Merchant, Bec Hill, Sara Pascoe and John Luke Roberts are set to appear - https://cosmicshambles.com/stayathome

Presume it's the same show as this one?

2004 show is there as well, along with other shows that he's performed at Edinburgh (but recorded elsewhere).

Jordan Brookes has said he's going to get Bleed and I Got Nothing online soon, so it'll be worth keeping an eye out for an announcement on twitter when he does as both shows are great - https://twitter.com/jordbrookes - not sure how Bleed will work without the headphones, but it'll be interesting to see.

Yeah, enjoyed that one.

A link to Michael J Dolan's Nothing Will Ever Be Alright Again Ever- an increasingly prophetic title. https://michaeljdolan.bandcamp.com/album/nothing-will-ever-be-alright-again-ever

His first show, Dress to Depress is also on there.

I Got Nothing is hysterical. Only show of his I haven't seen is Bleed, which sounds like a Kitson-esque experiment, so I'm interested to see that.

Another recommendation, Comedy Central US uploaded Sam Morril's full special to their stand-up YouTube channel a little while ago, presumably because they weren't interested in airing it properly. Shame really, as he's one of the best joke writers around right now and it's better than a lot of stuff on CC and Netflix, here it is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Xo3Fq7GGWk

Small Man Big Horse

Dan Klein - This Is Comedy - Bit of an odd one this as a number of well known faces praise Dan at the beginning including Thomas Middleditch, Nicole Byer, Lauren Lupkis, Jenny Slate and Adam Pally, but I watched ten minutes and only smirked once, I skipped forward a further 10 minutes to see if it improved but if anything it just actively annoyed me. Still, he somehow managed to get those famous types to say nice things about him so perhaps if you stick with it there'll be a twist and the rather mundane and obvious stuff he talks about will suddenly start being funny. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhNaU5mjgAE

I opened this and forgot when I had opened it and where it had come from. Really funny but I was confused at the start.

I'm putting together a similar guide to this on my site, and recently added:

John Hastings – 10 John Hastings I Hate About You – I saw a preview of Hastings very funny show last year, and described it as "A charming and often hilarious hour which I'm sure many, many people will enjoy a great deal."
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iiDBBqGdN1M&feature=emb_title

Emily Heller – Ice Thickens – A Comedy Central special from 2019 from one of the writers of HBO's Barry, this is packed with sharp, delicious satire and made me laugh a huge amount.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5n0hOM0Bm8&feature=emb_logo

Carl Hutchinson – Live from Newcastle Tyne Theatre – Hutchinson's 2019 show was called "Effortlessly hilarious" by Three Weeks and sees Carl uses his trademark high-energy delivery and hugely engaging manner to discuss some not so serious events in his life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUP3UNoceDo&feature=youtu.be

Luisa Omielan – Am I Right Ladies? – The always fantastic Luisa Omielan's second show is a whirlwind of comedy, with an amazing central performance and some gorgeously funny observations. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yqlJQ4qJns&feature=youtu.be

NextUp On Twitch – The fantastic live streaming service is screening some of it's best shows on Twitch, supposedly every night but I'm struggling to find a schedule right now – https://www.twitch.tv/nextupcomedy

Edit: And a few more:

Fahim Anwar: There's No Business Like Show Business - Another Comedy Central special, I've yet to view it but hear really great things about it.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8a8fZujVno

Bill Burr - Let It Go - I've got to admit that I'm not the world''s biggest fan of Burr but know many who really admire him, and rate his 2010 special. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCJDLgQ6xFk

George Carlin - Live in 1979 - The audio and video isn't the greatest, but fuck it, it's still Carlin and so of course essential viewing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ouTVSb03t4E

Jim Gaffigan - Mr Universe - His 2012 show, this shot in to public conciousness after Gaffigan's routine about McDonald's hit a chord, but the rest is strong too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KoDEoTryS0

Donald Glover - Weirdo - Glover's first special from 2011,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=OjWI-5CObq8&feature=emb_logo

Foil Arms and Hog - SkiddlyWup - This Irish trio are enormously popular in their native land, I've no idea if they're any good or not but they're probably worth checking out at least briefly.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUm4ABQqNOI&feature=emb_logo

Dylan Moran - Like, Totally - A man who surely needs no introduction, if you like Moran you'll love this, and if you don't like Moran, well, hopefully this will convert you.

Was going to recommend Sam Morril too!

Apparently Mark Normand's new special will drop on YouTube soon.

Police Cops have just set up a patreon where depending on what you pay you can stream one, two or all three of their shows, I adored Badass Be Thy Name a ridiculous amount so have signed up for the £10 a month tier so that I can see their first two shows. https://www.patreon.com/policecopscomedy

Also Joz Norris is doing one of those ko-fi things where if you buy him a coffee (ie donate £3) he'll send you a recording of his most recent show Joz Norris Is Dead. Long Live Mr Fruit Salad

I had to private message them on Patreon and request the videos that I wanted, and then they sent me the links. It's not the most ideal of situations, and it took about 12 hours before they responded, but I got them in the end.

Ah, fair enough.
I thought there were posts I couldn't see!

Because I'm an idiot I didn't realise this was the same Sam Campbell whose comedy blap Get Real Dude - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4KZF_uZM2Q - was one of my favourite pieces of comedy from last year. Half way through "The Trough" now and loving it too, it's inspired madness and then some and I hope the low budget filming of the show doesn't put anyone off watching it as it really is bloody great.

Ray Travez

can't vouch for this as I haven't seen it yet. First live-streamed performance of Manchester's XS Malarkey club night, run by erstwhile CaBber ExplodingVinyl. It's performed from home(s) due to virus conditions.

Performers-
James Acaster, Jen Ives, Will Duggan, Helen Bauer, Nish Kumar plus MC Toby Hadoke
