Lots of paedos will die and no kids will, improving the national ratio.

Also, people will become less wasteful with their food. ‘Waste not, want not’ will be chanted from the balconies. ‘Breadcrumb and Rind’ the new national dish.

Hard times in Italy but the pasta companies must be rubbing their eyes in disbelief at the orders coming in from the UK.

My wife's annoying divorcee mate can't come to our house again for ages, nor can her fucking kid.

I will be able to batter my games backlog.

Studio Ghibli are on Netflix.

Animal Crossing is out on Friday.

I lost two and a half stone since NYE, now I can eat infinite biscuits, pasta and frozen pizza and put it all back on.

I now have time every day to talk to my son over wechat and watch wildlife docs with him, instead of grabbing ten minutes in my shit job break allowance to apologise for not saying good night. Everything else is a distant secondary concern. When he sleeps on the other side of the frightened globe, I have time for myself to write, watch this backlog of classic hammer horror films and eat frazzles. Fuck job, get rest, touch nothing.

All of this will definitely make for a diamond Curb Your Enthusiasm episode next season.

In semi-socialist news, the Spaniards have effectively brought all their hospitals under public control. A timely reminder that governments can choose public health over a profit.

Hunters, right across Europe have to stay home and forgo murder, today and for the foreseeable.  It's just such a lovely thought.  All those miles and miles of mountains and forests, woods and lakes, all peaceful.  The wildlife just going about its daily thing without being massacred for shits and giggles.  Makes my heart sing.

Unless most of them have been doing their hunting in packed shopping malls like Bluewater, many of them will probably carry on business as usual.

EDIT: I guess this lockdown includes that, too?  It's fucking infuriating being at least a week behind Real Europe in preventative measures.

Not here, the village has its hunters, they have their own little house and everything.  You can't walk safely (guaranteed safely) on the mountain or the garrigue on Sundays or Wednesdays because they shoot anything that moves.  They go out on all the other days too, if they have the time.  Now, you aren't allowed to go anywhere with other people and you have to carry identity papers and an attestation when you go out alone.  The village is silent and it's the same, I'm pretty sure, right across Europe.

I expect today just like every day, millions of wildlife are currently being chased, tormented, predated and 'massacred' by fellow members of the food chain.

Good news if the few humans who hunt for sport have been told to stop, I suppose.

Of course but that for existential reasons, not for a laugh.

It isn't a few humans here, my village has less then 200 inhabitants including children.  I'd say, out of that, there are 20 or 30 who hunt regularly.  Multiply that across all the rural population and you see, it's just not just a few.

Of course but that for existential reasons, not for a laugh.

Well predatory animals often hunt for practise and don't end up eating what they catch in those cases. That may stem from a need to feel they can when they need to or simply a hunters instinct but it clearly isn't purely utilitarian necessity.

Some of them toy with the injured animal before they kill them, tormenting the creature as they do so. The idea animals wilder than us don't do things for a laugh isn't really supported by evidence.

This isn't being said to defend human hunting for sport, just that it's an uglier picture and deserves a less rose tinted appraisal. Predatory animals can be arbitrarily cruel and habitually are.

I don't know where you get your idea that I have a rose-tinted appraisal of the matter.  I'm guessing, from your own mind.

I'd bet my last bullet that I know more about nature, hunting and wildlife than most people.

Can I just be a saddo for a moment and say that it struck me this morning that I would be a lot lonelier right now without CaB. It's nice to have such a group to laugh / cry / joke about people dying with.

I came here to say essentially the same thing. I'm doing all the right things but still have a level of agitation going on somewhere under the surface. Pretty much the best thing to keep me from losing my shit is CaB. The Tony Bastard thread, and Al Tha Funkee Homosapien in particular, have been an absolute godsend.

This might be weird but I actually don't want to talk to people I actually know right now (apart from the ones I have to in day to day life). It's all a bit too much. I'm happier on forums and shit reading stuff and occasionally contributing to discussions with strangers.

As someone whose CaB involvement has mostly been in Oscillations and Doctor Who threads, this sub-forum has been my most read forum lately. The support, jokes, news and updates have been really, really helpful. This is a global problem and it's good to feel connected.
