I've known people who were unable to make it through to the end of this track. Turn the lights off or draw the curtains (i.e. try to do this in the dark). Lie flat on your back, on a bed or the floor and listen to the track on headphones for maximum effect (it's a holophonic recording; 3D sound):

Psychic TV - Proof On Survival - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PFlc3VeQds

(R.I.P. Genesis P. Orridge)

Definitely worth experiencing the entire album with headphones as the entire thing is holophonic.

At the other end of the spectrum

Nice axe work at 2:40

29:25 for Orridge

that psychic tv track made my brain hurt. I'm sure I've heard it before though, but probably not with the headophones on.

Did you get what was happening to "you"[nb]A holophonic microphone shaped like a human head.[/nb]?

chveik

I'm not sure tbh. I can only vaguely understand how holophonics work.

So you listened to it purely aesthetically? It actually emulates a specific experience from a rather claustrophobic perspective.

One of my apps tells me I've listened to 289 streams by Dead Kennedys over the past week, which makes me weirdly proud. I've been listening mostly to Plastic Surgery Disasters, so here's a topical song from that:

Nicely done. It's their best album, one of the greatest punk albums ever made in my opinion. A snarling masterpiece. "Well-Paid Scientist" has a ferocity that is VERY hard to match.
