Anyone using Amazon at this time needs to ask themselves if it's really necessary. They don't pop onto the conveyor by magic, your Three Wolf tee can wait. Need essentials? Queue up like the rest of us.

I agree one should consider whether or not what they're ordering is necessary, but it seems wise to order online to avoid queues which would be a source of transmission and more efficient distribution without panic buyers grabbing the lot, you're effectively skipping the bit in the chain between fulfilment center and shop. This way you can wait for stock to return and arrive to you and only meet with one potential carrier where you can clean quickly.

Gym-goers in Wolverhampton explain why they are still training, despite government guidance to "avoid large gatherings, and gatherings in smaller public spaces".

They'll all be whining when there's lockdown even though they make it necessary. I'm sick of these cunts.

I wondered why her name seemed familiar when I saw that clip, then recalled Joey Ramone had a song about her.

Just a great clip.

QuoteQueen tells UK to 'focus on the common goal' in coronavirus message

Nation's history was forged by people 'coming together to work as one', monarch says

"Many of us will need to find new ways of staying in touch with each other and making sure that loved ones are safe," she said. "I am certain we are up to that challenge. You can be assured that my family and I stand ready to play our part."

The statement was released after the Queen and Prince Philip left Buckingham Palace for Windsor Castle.

Black Ship

I might get in a lot of trouble over this. Hopefully this forum is obscure enough that nobody from the company I work for, a major hospitality chain isn't going to be prying, but I can't keep this in.

From what I can gather, the reasons Pubs and Hostelries are still open is that the CEOs are waiting for the government to drop fat insurance packages to cover their losses.

This weekend, would have been one of the biggest earners of the year - Mother's Day. Despite cancellations being rife, (one of our sister pubs went from 200+ covers to 11. 11 people that is not tables) unless we are put into mandatory lockdown, or our because our management cuts hours, we still have to turn up to work.

Vicious cycle, Pubs and restaurants still open, people who should be at home, are going to visit putting our lives at risk. People still need to work to make money. Less hours, less money. Get people in, more money in those fewer hours. It's really stressful.

If you want to self isolate the money, you have to dip into your holiday allowance, unless you are actually sick which case you get standard sick pay ie fuck all.

Mobius

Yeah and I think a lot of companies cannot cancel events unless officially told to, otherwise they lose money. If you're forced to cancel a show you can recoup the costs I suppose, but if you decide off your own back it's probably tough shit.

This is a pretty bad response to Coronavirus

Just realised reading some American discussions on Twitter that the anti-vax crowd plan to refuse to be vaccinated. Great.

Urinal Cake

Apparently some US Senators did some inside trading after attending closed door briefings while downplaying the. Threat publicly. Seems like something politicians around the world would do as well

It's emerged that hospitals are having to take extra security precautions due to a spate of thefts of masks and hand sanitiser from intensive care wards.

Aren't people wonderful?

A load of surgical masks got stolen from a cancer hospital here. Lo and behold, some fucker was flogging masks on Grafton Street a day or two later.

BBC News:

QuoteThe boss of one of the UK's biggest pub chains is keeping its pubs open despite the government's advice to avoid pubs.

Wetherspoon's chairman Tim Martin told the BBC a shutdown in the face of coronavirus would be "over the top".

He said a sensible balance was for pubs to open but to implement "social distancing" measures, like no standing at the bar...

Hold on, let me copy/paste from the Tim Martin.txt file I always have open: What a cunt.

Many thanks to the BBC for giving him a platform on their flagship news programme. Really fucking helpful, lads.
