Just Dropped Dead (To See What Condition my Condition Was In)

something about picking a fine time to leave us

kalowski

And when he finished speakin'
He turned back toward the window
Crushed out his cigarette
And faded off to sleep
And somewhere in the darkness
The gambler he broke even
But in his final words
I found an ace that I could keep

If he could hold on to life.

This song by him is especially poignant. Just listen to the lyrics.

Shirley "The Gambler Cashes Out" or similar would have been a better thread title? He was clearly a wiser card player than Lemmy, who went all-in with a single ace.

As a Big Lebowski fan, Just Dropped In is a perennial favourite. Did he do more tunes like that, or was it a total anomaly among his discography?

Mr Farenheit

Been listening to 'The Further Adventures of the Gatlin Boys' today for the first time in ages.
Great album but I can see why it was banned.
