DrGreggles

I'm thinking of creating a pop quiz and wondered if there would be any interest in it.
I used to run them down my old local pub, so the format is already tried and tested.

Just an idea to help pass the hours/days/weeks...

the science eel

BlodwynPig

maybe you can set one up on Sporcle or do you want to do it here?

Rich Uncle Skeleton

Captain Z

Yes definitely. I read something about using Google Forms for this purpose, but no experience with them personally.

Can that work with audio files?

They have quiz nights that I think are virtual - but it seems that bars in America use them to host real pub quizzes - not sure. Also not sure if you can host a quiz virtually for a certain selection of the members.

DrGreggles

To be honest, I probably just need somewhere to host audio files, so I can probably use Google Drive and share the files here.

Crabwalk

I'd be well up for this. Can you dress up like Mike Read please?

Midas touch

Bangers that are better than Thriller thread is that way mate

DrGreggles

I've done an Intro round as a test, so let me know if it works.

If this were real I'd tell you that it's 2 points for the artist and 2 points for the title - a big 40 points available!
But it's just a test...

The Culture Bunker

Well, it works for me. So we do we all message you our answers?

How do we provide answers? posting in here won't work

Crabwalk

Link works for me.

Working on that now. Just wanted to make sure the file played first.

DrGreggles

Of course, the answers could just be sent via PM on here...

(took me long enough to think of it)

The Culture Bunker

Had a go, though I had no idea on three of them.

I only had any idea on about three of them, sent my answers in regardless

DrGreggles

Thanks for those who have submitted answers to the test round.
Wasn't expecting them, but still...

So do we think this format will work? Or would some kind of Google Docs answer sheet be better?

Inspector Norse

Wait so I embarrassed myself for no reason?

Google Docs answer sheet would allow you to see everyone else's answers surely? PM works fine I think

No idea. Thought they could just be shared with specific people (such as me).

Enjoyed that test, thank you. I reckon I got over 30 points and I haven't listened to any pop music for 20 years so if you want to make it less biased to covid-boomer-scum, get some more modern material in there. Cuh, call that music? Is it a boy or a girl?

chveik

1) reminds me of something
2) possibly heard it before
3) no idea, some soft shite?
4) one of those blues rock guys
5) I know that one!
6) fuck me I'm terrible at this
7) ugh
8) sounds like house of the rising sun maybe
9) trumpet before a film
10) the violins song

Gregory Torso

I only knew strawberry switchblade :(
