I will be next week, I'm a secondary school teacher.  This week I'm on jury service which, frankly, has removed what little faith I previously had in the CPS, the police and barristers, none of whom are what you might call Perry Masonesque.

In tomorrow to help get people sorted out for remote working etc then I think the plan is for a working from home trial for 1 week, after I put a strong case forward as "I work in IT, I'm sat at the computer doing project work most of the time and most problems can be solved over the phone" and "I live with parents in an at risk category and don't want to bring the virus home".  They basically want to be reassured we're actually working from home and not just shitposting on CaB or whatever.

Yeah...they were threatening to send me into the office tomorrow as IT is apparently an "essential service" despite the rest of the organisation being completely closed down and all administrative staff working from home. I think they assume the VPN is operated by hand crank or something. Luckily, they've relented and only the poor Service Desk guys now have to venture into No Man's Land. I pray for them.

Most of my place is on 50% in, 50% working from home. I'm in the latter category for next week. Work in a Council, but not every fucking job in the place is essential.

The office is still open to the public when it doesn't need to be.

Will be working again later this week.  One of my jobs is cleaning for a doctor, so I'll be doing that again now I'm better.  Glad to do it, a tiny contribution towards making their life a bit more liveable at the moment, though it will be very weird, going out of the house and stuff.

Started working from home at the beginning of the month, before it was popular, because of the looking corona threat. Going to keep doing that indefinitely. I live in the US and I wouldn't get 80 percent of my pay from the government, so I'm quite happy that I won't be out of work, as much as I'd like to doss around for a month.

It's my colleagues who are driving me crazy by sending out 25,684 emails every day. It was awful last week, as we were instructed in midday to shift to online teaching with no time actually to sort everything out. Just DO IT NOW, CLASSES ARE NOW ALL ONLINE - GO!!! from senior management.

At work as we provide a semi-essential service to the NHS and we need operators on specialist equipment. In fact, we're likely to get busier as hospitals are struggling to keep staff for non-medical work, and any in-house work they can't cover will come our way.  It would take a government order or for our clients to stop sending us work for us to close.

I don't technically need to be in, nor do most of the management team, but we need to be seen so as not to spook people so they all fuck off home. I don't mind too much as we're taking very sensible precautions in terms of cleaning and distancing.

My 64 year old mum works at a card shop and it's business as usual for them which is absolutely ridiculous. Said the shop was heaving on Saturday as people rushed out to buy last minute Mother's Day cards. She's hoping her boss will shut, but until the laws are passed to guarantee the SME financial assistance, he probably won't. Genuinely terrified for her.

I work in a museum that's been closed to the public for a week now. Our hours have been reduced, but there were staff stood around pointlessly in empty galleries all the rest of last week, though we're assured that this week will be used to deliver training. Every day more of our staff go into self-isolation leaving an ever-more nervous, dwindling work force.
Really all my team is doing is answering emails and the odd phone call, and frankly I could cover all the emails from home if I were given remote access.
Every day that this goes on I get angrier, for some reason especially when I saw my head of department and one of the senior managers popping out for lunch on Friday and demonstrating their complete ignorance and lack of care over the whole situation.
Many of my staff are agency workers and most are young and from mainland Europe: they're still nervous about their wages despite the government's announcement because they know that they can still be dismissed, and they're worried for their families from whom they're especially isolated. I'm trying my best to support them and even just cheer them up a little and have told them that they can contact me any time if they need to talk to someone, but of course I don't have any answers to give them.
Apologies, this turned into more of a rant than I'd planned. Still, back to work tomorrow!

I've been reduced to doing admin work for the estate agents I work for as my property inspection department was predictably shut down. My office has about 30 people in it, each group of us sits about 1 metre from one another. The surfaces and equipment are not regularly disinfected, and the place is not well-ventilated (no windows).

Everyone there (property managers, accounts, renewals, admin) could work rom home if the company would grant us remote access, but they're being extremely tight-arsed about data security and nothing has been implemented yet and no one has told us a fucking thing. We are a very sizeable company and frankly I'm appalled right now. I have the day off today as annual leave for my partner's birthday but I'm going to call the head of HR today as I'm sick of it now.

My colleague, also from the inspection department, whom I sit next to and hang out with frequently in the office, called me today and says she's off sick. She sounded absolutely horrendous, coughing constantly and saying she has shortness of breath. They told her to "take at least 7 days off". ARE YOU FUCKING MENTAL? Honestly I'm raging about this right now. I've spent the last 3 days in total isolation out of simple common sense and tomorrow I'm going to be expected to commute 7 miles across the city and back into that office? What's the fucking point of isolating at all then?
