Yeah it's probably worth mentioning that I don't really like P's voice or style of rapping all that much either which certainly doesn't help! Mike is solid as fuck but the lyrical content lets his side down.

I hope it's clear enough from my opening tirade that I can certainly understand why they are liked so much by others and I don't doubt they're a total party on the live stage, but otherwise they are just not a band for me. My comparison with Mastodon wasn't a glib remark either; they're another act where I'm able to see all the substance right there but I just can't get into what they're doing at all.

Bang on about mastodon. First record was dope but since then it's all a bit show offy and they have no tunes. There's been increasingly complex musical stuff going on but it's just profoundly boring.

I definitely take strong consolation in the fact that at least three of my other mates also think that about Mastodon, and that I don't increasingly feel like there's something wrong with my brain. You and a couple others here have backed me up on this before as well, so thanks :D
