I've not been posting much recently for several reasons, the main one being this horribly, horribly addictive online flash game The Quest for the Crown.

If you can overcome the slightly primitive graphics (by todays standards) and lack of a save feature (though there are passwords) what you have is a game that in my opinion not only matches Zelda: A Link to the Past and The Secret of Mana, but actually blows them out of the water in terms of depth, storyline and imersion.

There's a quirky slightly-annoying sense of humour running through it that you'll soon find endearing as you become not only a player in, but a part of the QFC world.

It's weird to say this, but after a couple of weeks or so playing QFC solidly all day, completing the game left me feeling cheated that it had ended and a new friend that I had grown to love had no more to offer.

Don't play this game if you still harbour fond memories for the classic 16-bit sprite-based rpgs mentioned above as they'll look shit after this, and certainly don't play it if you've got any plans for the next fortnight.

No probs PT, just try not to get distracted by all the side quests. Sure you can find some pretty useful items, but half of them lead you in circles.

I spent hours in the Crystalline Caves looking for the Scroll of Eternal Wandering, thinking it was going to be a way to avoid having to deal with Raganort face-to-face.
I eventually consulted a couple of online FAQs and walkthoughs and found out that it was just a wild goose chase, a sort of ironic joke by the game writers "I've been wandering forever looing for this scroll.. where is it?" type thing. A couple of people in the QFC forums claim to have found it, but I'm betting that these are the same people who have found all 152 levels of Super Mario World.
