I recently sacked off my BT HomeHub with spotty WiFi across our house and got a proper Netgear router and decent Powerline adapters. Now the consoles and telly are all getting 70 Mbps on the top floor of the house. I was sceptical but I would now definitely recommend giving this Powerline system a go. It doesn't work well through a power strip/surge protector, though. Pretty much halves the speed so you have to dedicate two wall sockets for it. I then put an unmanaged Netgear Switch at the end, and separated the Ethernet out across the various systems. Rapid and stable.

I just wanted to pass on the recommendation.

They're great. I have my telly hooked up to one and Steam Link works flawlessly on it.

Results completely depend on the wiring in your home though
