I posted a thread already for Dhani Harrison's chilling rendition of his father's song/mantra, "The Inner Light":

...and now I hear this:
Brian Wilson "Love and Mercy" (and "Do it Again") - perhaps nothing much for the uninitiated, but personally one of my favourite post-BB compositions - nice to hear played in 2020 by the man himself.

Tim Heidecker, yes also a musician, crowdsourced the backing track for this original composition from his twitter following:

any of your favourites turning up with these home made efforts?

Quote from: Billy BraggDue to the lockdown, we were unable to be with our granddaughter on her fourth birthday this week. She likes to wander into my office when she comes over and strum my guitar on its stand. That's usually a sign that she'd like me to play a song for her.

One of the books that we have for her to read when she's here is Michael Rosen's wonderful story 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt', illustrated by Helen Oxenbury.

A year or so ago, I set the text to the tune of an old folk song we used to sing at primary school called 'The Keel Row'. It proved so popular that she asks to hear it whenever she comes to visit.

Unable to see her this birthday, I decided to record the song and send it to her instead.

Perhaps you know someone who might like to hear it too.

Quote from: Billy BraggThe coronavirus pandemic is going to affect our lives in ways we've yet to grasp. In the coming months, most of us will be forced to miss family gatherings, starting with Mother's Day which in the UK falls on this first weekend of isolation.

Here's a new song written in the past few days that touches on the emotional cost of this crisis.

Jagger's voice seems to be in much better shape than Macca's there.

I don't really get it. The magic drumkit leads me to think it's a lip sync, but which version are they lip syncing to and how can anyone lip sync that well?

Jagger's vocals and Ronnie Wood's guitar are the only things that are live. Richards has a live mic, but his 12-string guitar is is pretty low down in the mix (you can hear him play a lick on it near the start and at the breakdown near the end, but most of the time you can mostly hear the acoustic guitar from a backing track - Jagger's hands aren't moving to match the chords). The drums, organ and bass are all obviously off a backing track too. I expect like most artists now they use them live for a bit of 'reinforcement'.

I haven't seen any confirmation that it is actually them, but allegedly Autechre have been livestreaming some continually evolving generative music on Twitch for several days:

If you go to the videos on the channel, you can find snapshots of the stream people have captured to see how it evolves.

I hate to disagree, but I think Jagger is playing. The shapes look correct to me. He's playing C, F and the occasional D, although he sounds suprisingly clear for a non-specialist perhaps. That twat Richards is doing nothing much at all which is par for the course. Except looking incredibly pleased with himself, also nothing new.

Pingers

White Noise From Electronic Toys has made a beautiful album of ambient electronica to help cope with lockdown called Music to Quiet Down Your Mind. It's available on a number of services, I got it on Bandcamp.
