Sadly, you're not dreaming...

QuoteHonor Blackman, the British actress who played Pussy Galore in the James Bond film Goldfinger, has died at the age of 94.

In a statement, her family said she died peacefully of natural causes at home in Lewes, East Sussex.

Aw, Cathy Gale, Pussy Galore, Laura West, is no more. Still 94, pretty good run for the old bruiser.

Always my favourite Avenger.

Just seen this and didn't realise she was 94!

Discontinued, Age 94.

( Admittedly, this would have worked better if she was Richard Ingrams, or Ian Hislop, or someone like that.)

Pussy Nomore, surely?

Pus-sy Galore, Shirley?
( As in her purifying corpse will start yielding pus pouring out like thick whipped cream, as Jayne County would have it in her famous " Storm The Gates Of Heaven" song ) ( Unless she's cremated ) ( Honor Blackman, not Jayne County).

James Bond raped Pussy Galore

machotrouts

Goldfinger the nation's favourite family film about corrective rape

No "Goner Blackman" title? For shame.

I will miss her tireless efforts to honor black men.

Was 39 when she did Goldfinger, practically geriatric by Bond-girl standards.

Not that tireless - she stopped after the one.

And that was Idi Amin. Nasty piece of work.

What? I'd heard he was the most amazing man.

As I child, I remember seeing him on the news in the 70s.  Wasn't he often dressed in military uniform/combat fatigues?

Liar. In 1970 he turned 55.

She turned down a CBE because she hates the queen/is an ardent Republican. Although I wonder if she felt she would be better at the job. A true legend anyhow. Also, she once fisted Joe McGann with an iron gauntlet.

Honor Blackman had one of the only two posh voices it's okay to like[nb]Julian Clary still with us[/nb]. Commanding, stern, authoritative. If she was the Queen I'd kind of get all the licksplittling. Big charisma nan

I'm far too millennial woke to like Goldfinger but Pussy Galore is a highlight. A strong and powerful presence for someone whose main plot role is to get raped in a barn

Noodle Lizard

She came to our house for a fireworks night party (I think) when I was 13 or so, as she was working with someone my mum knew or something like that. She wasn't very nice to anyone and ate more than her socially-acceptable share of the mini sausage rolls. RIP.
